As it is known, centralization is the process whereby the final authority, management, and decision of a particular economy, corporation, community, platform, and so on is determined by a central government. Virtually everything in our world is centralized, a central government, a central banking system, Centralized social media, a Centralized stock market, and so on and so, it has made it easy for our data to become valuable for people who are willing to game the system and make a profit over our information. In this post, I will be comparing the Centralized type of Browser to a Decentralized type of browser and I will be taking a look at Chrome and Brave.

Centralized browsing (Chrome)
On the Internet, two things are very paramount and that is privacy and security. The ability for browsers and websites to track user's data and browsing habits with cookies is very disturbing. Have you noticed that if you search on the internet about pet toys, there is a 90% chance that when you log in to Amazon or any other eCommerce store, your feeds will contain pat toys. How did the eCommerce store know that you have been looking into pet toys? It is a result of browsers giving 2nd and third-party sites access to users' surfing habits and data.

The way a centralized browser behaves, users are given the choice of privacy or convenience. On a regular chrome browser, it is very unpleasant and boring to browse while blocking cookies, pop-ups and increasing one's privacy level but the browsing experience becomes very swift, interesting, and convenient when privacy security is low. With this, centralized browsers allow us to trade our convenience for data.

Decentralized Browser (Brave)
Unlike the centralized browser where all data is stored in a cloud base and used to identify people's way of life, browsing patterns, and so on, decentralized browsers such as Brave won't do such a thing, a decentralized browser such as Brave is built to protect users' privacy. Using IPFS to access data on a network of distributed nodes, privacy is protected and third-party websites can't access the data. While centralized browsers trade data for convenience, decentralized browsers encourage privacy for a better browsing experience.

When browsing with Brave browser, the entire period of browsing is monitored in a private way and then credited in BAT tokens for using the browser. Also, on Brave, users can pay their favorite content creator with BAT token.

With Brave browser, there are no Pop-ups, the browsing is fast, there is value for time rather than stealing users data.

Will will be use in the future?
Although, centralized companies have a lot of funds to improve their services but with the gradual integration of virtually everything online into the blockchain, Decentralized browsers will become the future of browsers.
