Hello community os SteemitCryptoAcademy, this is my submission to the task given in @levycore’s class about NFTs.

I hope I can make good work with this post, and explain well the project that I choose to talk about, a project that uses NFTs.

UpLand

The project that I will talk about is Upland.

Upland? What is that?

Upland is a game that unites virtuality, and reality, with the building of a virtual world that mimics reality. Like Decentraladand, Upland can give you the opportunity and the power to trade real state, you can play it buying and selling virtual properties based on addresses that exist in the real world, like properties in Manhattan, Massachusetts, or your house maybe? All that in one well-constructed virtual world.

The digital properties you gather, buy or sell in Upland don’t have any association or rights to the correlating properties in the real world, however, the addresses do mirror real-life locations. The currency that is used and powers the economy in Upland’s economy is the UPX, an in-game currency.

So, in a short talk, Upland is some kind of earth’s metaverse that has properties and locations mapped liked the real world.

The launching of the game begins in 2019, but the majority of talk about this game is rolling in this year.

<4>How it works?</4>

The player, or Uplander, can use a Marketplace, that allows the players or Uplanders to buy and trade properties.

The currency used in the Marketplace and the game is the UPX.

When you acquire and own a property in Upland you can also collect earnings on it, and these earnings are sent to your account in UPX.

The Uplander can discover and purchase new properties using a roaming avatar. The avatar can also roam at random, and the most recent properties it visits will be available for the Uplander to purchase. Besides that, the can player control his avatar’s location by sending it to one of the owned properties.

The mechanics of the game is so advanced that, the Uplanders avatar can also allow the player to acquire properties around his real-life physical location. These location-based property discovery mechanics can support the player in completing Upland’s Collections.

Collections one of the core game mechanics in Upland. The players can receive special UPX rewards by completing a Collection, and that will also increase the earnings on all the properties that the player owns that are part of the Collection.

The player is able too, to acquire properties that are off the market through the Mystery Property Packs function if he purchases that in the Upland store. The Property Packs contain properties that are guaranteed to be part of some Collection, and that can boost the player's portfolio earnings.

Obviously, Upland is powered by blockchain technology, and the property the player collect in the Upland virtual land is truly his to sell, trade, or keep forever.

And the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) can offer the possibility of true ownership, with authenticity and provable scarcity.

The Upland game is built in the EOS Blockchain, and each property is unique and visible in the blockchain.

The games crew worked to make the technicalities and such of blockchain technology almost invisible to the players, and there is an opportunity to use fiat currency for acquiring and sell assets.

The players can build and develop their properties in the world of Upland too.

Who created that?

Upland is developed by Uplandme, Inc., a company based in the famous Silicon Valley.

The enterprise is founded by Dirk Lueth, Mani Honigstein and Idan Zuckerman.

The idea came up when the three friends are in a night of game and movie playing Monopoly and watching “Stranger Things”.

The business of Upland will works in the franchise system format as it expands around the real world. If anyone has an interest in taking over and operating a country, a city, or other areas, they can contact the Upland crew indicating which area they are interested in acquiring, the qualifications, and motivations.

My view about Upland

I think the game could be a nice chance for to people own the properties of their dreams, and I am eager to see the development of this and other games.
