(1) What is PoB? What does curation mean to you in Steem Blockchain? What are the benefits of building SP? How do you explain self-upvote as a good or bad social behavior & why? INTRODUCTION

The Steem social network is a nice decentralized blockchain-based social platform which rewards its users based on quality content created. There are different things that make this platform unique ranging from the Proof-of-Brain, reward pool, curation abilities, etc. In order for efficiency and effective operations there is need to explore each of these terms and come to a full understanding of each of the terms. In this homework post, I've made efforts to answer questions that concern those terms mentioned above.

PROOF-OF-BRAIN

Proof-of-brain is a collection of the decentralized nature of the Steem blockchain, the reward pool, the insights of people in the creation of original contents, the reward distribution mechanism known as Steem power, etc. It is the entire process of creating good contents, getting evaluations from other users and the appropriate reward that follows.

WHAT CURATION MEANS

Curation is the process of evaluating a post or contents, or article, based on the value and quality of such content and giving a reward to it from the available Steem and voting power. Simply put, curation is the act of clicking on the upvote button in order to give reward to a post based on how valuable the post is to the curator. There's a reward associated with this act and at the same time, the curator does not lose money in the process.

THE BENEFITS OF BUILDING STEEM POWER

There are so many benefits associated with building steem power. Steem power is the mechanism used in distributing rewards to contents created on the Steem blockchain. For all the users, It is a necessity and of importance to build Steem power. Some of the benefits that accompanies such process include;

1. Steem power enables users to buy a stake in Steemit which will help increase the value of their profile and at the same time, giving more value to their upvotes.
2. Curation comes with a reward. Building your Steem power helps increase the voting and curation capacity which will inturn increase the curation rewards of such user. A user earns both Steem alongside Tron which is in proportion to the Steem power.
3. Building your Steem power also help increase the influence of the Steem power holder in the blockchain.

SELF-UPVOTE; GOOD OR BAD BEHAVIOR?

Self-upvotes to some extent is a bad behaviour because the user only considers his post as a worthy content without evaluations from others. The content in real sense may not be too befitting as the user may consider. On the other hand, self compensation isn't bad. It only creates a sense of confidence and self-belief. Whatever the case maybe, users should try to create original and worthwhile contents based on other people's evaluations.

STEEM RANK, PRICE, AND COINMARKETCAP

According to coinmarketcap.com, STEEM as at the time of writing ranked #165 with a market price of $0.4099 and a market capitalisation of $162,971,327.56.

Steem Backed Dollar (SBD) ranked #411 with a market price of $5.78 and a market capitalisation of $46,662,574.92. Screenshots are shown below;

THE TOKENS I DO EARN FROM STEEMIT SOCIALISATION

There are various tokens earned from socializing on the same network. They are;

1. STEEM
2. Steem Backed Dollar (SBD)
3. Tron (TRX)
4. Steem Power (Voting Mechanism).
   Tron was introduced as one of the tokens to earn on Steemit during the Steemit and Tron integration in 2020.

CONCLUSION

Steemit is a decentralized blockchain-based social network that gives rewards to its users for content creation. It makes use of proof-of-brain, voting mechanisms, etc to run the network. There are some benefits attached to building the voting mechanism (SP) such as increasing your influence in the network as well as your curation reward. In a nutshell, Steemit is a worthwhile social platform worth operating in.
