WE LIVE BY FAITH AND NOT BY OUR FEELINGS.

WE LIVE BY FAITH AND NOT BY OUR FEELINGS.

God’s people often times come under life’s pressure and they are tempted to believe that God has forsaken and forgotten them. This could be a real feeling; but, the truth of the matter is that we cannot contact God by our feelings, we can only contact Him by our faith: For we live by faith and not by sight.

Your feelings notwithstanding, it is a lie of the devil to think that God has forsaken you. God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. This is why we can boldly proclaim His help in the time of trouble. He is not a man that He should lie, He remains a stronghold in the time of trouble, a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

The Psalmist proclaimed in Psalm 23:4 – “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me”.

The clouds may be dark, the battle may be fierce and the road may look so rough and hard, but the good news is that God is in it with you. He has vowed to go all the way with you and with Jesus in the vessel, you will smile at the storm.
Your situation might have so dragged and you might be tempted to conclude like Gideon –

“if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? And where be all His miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites” (Judges 6:13).

No matter what you are going through, no matter how long you have been in it; God remains Who His Word says that He is: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). God is not far from you, He is not ignorant of your situation; He is acquainted with all your ways.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had nothing to suggest to them that God was with them, other than the promise of God’s Word. Everything seemed so contrary; but, in the midst of it all, they maintained their faith in God and His Word. One would have expected some kind of mysterious intervention to prevent them from being thrown into the fiery furnace; but, Nebuchadnezzar seemed to have had everything go in his favor.

Heating up the furnace seven times more than it ordinarily would have been, the young men held on to their faith in God’s Word, because they knew that God cannot lie: Let every man be a liar, God remains true forever. When the young men were thrown into the fire, the king proclaimed –

“Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they have no hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Daniel 3:25).

  • Child of God! it is a lie that God has forgotten you. Cheer up! Your testimony of His power shall come through.
