As a Sunday school teacher, I love teaching children about the life of the father of faith, whose name is Abraham.

Abraham certainly, one day he heard the voice of God telling him:

Leave your land and your relatives, and your father's house, in the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and those who curse you I will curse; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. Genesis 12: 1-3

What I like about this is that Abraham genuinely believed in that voice that gave him these promises. That genuine faith of Abraham was a very important trigger for God to make him a successful man in all the path that he was going to undertake.

Abraham's faith led him to be a man of great blessing, both spiritually and materially. God had promised to make of him a great nation, the fact that today we have in the Middle East a powerful nation that came from the loins of Abraham, called Israel.

Furthermore, God also told Abraham that he was going to bless him, and Abraham became an oriental billionaire, both in gold and silver, cattle, servants, and shepherds. Among other great promises, God told Abraham that in him all the families of the earth would be blessed. This promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who is a descendant of Abraham and savior of men through his death and his sacrifice on the cross.

If we detail every aspect of God's promises to Abraham, we will find that Abraham was very successful because his faith in God led him to believe that God would give him everything he had promised.

Of course, Abraham had many obstacles and challenges along the way, but his faith never wavered, but rather grew strong in the Lord.

All of this contains great teaching for Christians today. We cannot forget that our faith is what pleases God the most. In this sense, faith is the ingredient for success in all areas of our lives.
