Still Knowing
Living in the wrong way, even knowing it, does not guarantee that you can change, living differently, because sometimes people know that they are doing the wrong thing but still continue to do it.
Perhaps it is because not only with knowing it, it is necessary to recognize it deep down, or to put all the possible disposition to change it.
Knowing that we are acting wrong and not changing is the most ironic thing we can do in life, the most harmful for us, because this leads us to destroy ourselves, it is better to go through something ignorantly than to go through it knowing that it is wrong, well, if you know that it is wrong and you continue to do it, then it means that we are only making excuses not to stop doing it.
In the bible we find examples of people who, when confronted by God through his prophets, only present excuses, as is the case of Saul, when he was confronted by Samuel because he did not rule the king and brought with him what God had forbidden him, he did not He estimated a time to ask for forgiveness and turn to God, on the contrary I only present excuses.
Adam when he was confronted for having eaten from the forbidden tree also excused himself, and the only thing they wanted was to be thrown out, because there was no repentance in them despite knowing that they were acting in the wrong way.
However, if we go to the story of David, a man whose heart was according to God's, fulfilled the command to go to war and did not do it, but stayed in the palace, at that time he saw a woman bathing and he I take for him, not satisfied with it, I send her husband to the battle front to die and so it happened, but this man when confronted by God through the prophet, immediately said that he was a sinner, asked for forgiveness, made written a psalm about it, and God forgave him.
Because David had forgiveness and the others were thrown out, because although David sinned, even knowing it, when he was confronted he did not try to hide it, he did not rush to excuse himself, David went immediately. He begged for forgiveness and turned away from sin.
Let us be wise and understand that we must change attitudes in ourselves and that only with God's favor and his grace can we change.
