If I die, I die but Why Sit We Here till we Die

in HeartChurch4 years ago

There was a time in the history of the children of Israel that the syrians began to oppress them to the extent of the deplorable condition. There was a famine that people began to kill and eat their children.
(A brief background to the story in 2kings 7:1-16).

The Bible at this time recorded that: there were four leprous men in the entering of the gate. These lepers were outside the gate because once a person get leprous, he was not allowed to dwell among God's people. Leprosy was regarded as an abomination in the old testament.it was not regarded as ordinary sickness. The four lepers were this destined to perish, they were abandoned and banned from the congregation of men.
The Bible says "and they said one to another, why Sit we here until we die?. That was a very wonderful question. This question meant "why accept this situation until it kills us? Why submit our lives to this situation until it kills us? Why submit our lives to this situation until we die?".

The first question does people asked themselves is what each of us needs to ask ourselves. Must we sit down in the situation in which we find ourselves our life today, until we die?. For God to change your life, you must consider where you are sitting and you must ask yourself "why am I sitting in this condition? Why am I accepting, relaxing and agreeing with this situation? Is it where God intends me to sit till I die"?

You can quickly evaluate where you are sitting. Why is it that year in, year out you are a grumbler.? Naturally, these lepers would have answered themselves and said "because we are lepers" though they knew they were leprous, something told them inside their hearts "leprosy is not the end of everything. Why Sit you here in this condition?" . So why Sit as a complainer everyday, why keep finding faults , critizing yourself? God has not destined you to sit in that condition, so why must you sit there?

The children of Israel were in the land of Egypt for four hundred and theitu years. As long as there was nothing to make them ask "why are we here"? They were there, year in, year out. No one cried for revival , they did not cry for change because they did not see the need. Your first need is to hate where you are sitting, to query your present level, your present difficult and predicament. Even if your present condition is good, it can be better.

Could it be anytime you want to ask yourself 'why sit here's . A false religious spirit will jump in your head and tell you , "it's the will of God"? Have you ever thought of finding the will of God for you? What does God gain seeing you miserable. Think of a man who is poor and feels he ought to stay in poverty because it's God's will for him not to be Rich. This could be a result to laziness or lack of knowledge. What could God gain in such a condition?

The next part of the question is "Till we die" the devil quickly tells you now just endure , it is not forever. It is only until you die!. And you might have agreed with him. When all you're saying as a wife is that God should help you if you happen to come to this world again not to make a mistake of marrying the kind of husband you have, you are simply agreeing that you will sit there until you die.you are not expecting a miracle, you are settling with your condition and making no move for change.

One critical weapon the devil uses to oppress men is the fear of death. Many people will never become what God want them to become because they are afraid they will die. The lepers reasoned *if we say we will enter into the city, the famine is In the city, we will die there" . Many you are sitting in the wrong place even where you are now. Many God wants to make a change in your life but because where He is sending you to is an unfamiliar ground , you have not been able to move instead you keep asking yourself what if I go and die there? That's why you are unable to move to the level God wants you to. Anyone that has done something tangible for God in his lifetime is someone that says "If I die, I die." Until you can look at death in the face and tell death , "if I die, I die" you will never move.
