It is finished

John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Longtime ago, In a day like this, marks the day the work of salvation was completed, a day when we were bought out of slavery from sin and translated into the kingdom of God's dear son. It was a day when we were paid for fully and authority was granted unto us which was long stolen in the garden of Adam. The reason for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ was to deliver men from the boundage of sin and makes us no longer slave of sin but children of God, whom could have access to the father directly via the sacrifice done through the blood of Christ.

Now all our sin was bought and righteousness exalted, our sickness was taken that we may have health, He became poor that we would be rich. What a love demonstrated to us on the cross, a love redefined, " That love is demonstrated through sacrifice" that comes from a pure heart.

V.19:30- when Jesus therefore had received the vinegar , he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost

I wondered why He had to receive the vinegar first before saying it is finished. Yes, it was to fulfil the prophecies but again, it was to describe all sorrow and boundage has been taken off and the work of exchange completed. The work of exchange that was happening in the spiritual than the physical. The work of transformation and renewing was completed.

So as long as we live, we are His and He expect of Us to depend completely in Him. To receive this transformation and translation, we must first confess Him to be our Lord and personal savior and to believe with our whole heart that He died for our sin and that on the third day He rose again.

For whoever is in Christ, is a new Creation, old things(slavery to sin, law) is passed away and we become new (Living under Grace) . For whoever is born again lives not under the law but under Grace. Which means we live in authority of God's kingdom and not that of the law which is pattern for men who still live in darkness.

Let's celebrate Easter with the knowledge of our Dominion over sin and live a life pleasing unto Him.
