"THEREFORE take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."
Acts 20:28 (NKJV)

2 SHEPHERD the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;
3 NOR AS BEING LORDS [masters] OVER THOSE ENTRUSTED TO YOU, but being examples to the flock."
1 Peter 5:2,3 (NKJV)

• If you are active in the Kingdom, the devil would want to fight with you. He would want to distract you by touching your home, people, or things that are precious to you.

  • Standing with God to defend the people, praying for them, is an a enormous work. The powers behind the problems of the people you are ministering to, may want to challenge, confront or attack you:
13 THEN some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 ALSO there were SEVEN SONS OF SCEVA, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. 15 AND THE EVIL SPIRIT ANSWERED AND SAID, “JESUS I KNOW, AND PAUL I KNOW; BUT WHO ARE YOU [to cast me out]?” 16 Then the man in whom the EVIL SPIRIT WAS LEAPED ON THEM, OVERPOWERED THEM, AND PREVAILED AGAINST THEM, so that they FLED OUT of that house NAKED AND WOUNDED" (Acts 19:13-16 NKJV).
  • You have to live right, live a holy life, and be steadfast in the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:19-21).
THE sons of Sceva in the above Bible passage were probably not born-again, or were living in sin; that is why the demon in the person they wanted to deliver dealt with them.

• When you are confronted! Do not be afraid because you have not sent yourself. In other words, you are not on your own, God did send you.

  • One important thing that would not make you a casualty is, you should know your assignment, your area of operation, and stay with it.
  • God works in diverse ways. He has raised you for a purpose.
  • You should also know your place, where God wants you to be, or operate your ministry (Acts 22:18,21; Galatians 2:7-9). You might not be able to thrive just in any place, but your appointed place.
  • When you know your appointed place, you will get to know the people you are assigned to minister to (Galatians 2:7-9).
  • You are sent to the people, to take them to a place of destiny (1 Corinthians 11:1). a. Their lives and destinies are attached to yours. Thus, be identify with them and their needs.
    b. They are precious to God, do not take them for granted. God will bless you If you do what is expected of you, in their lives.
    c. Therefore, teach them the Word of God, pray for them, counsel them, and identify with them in whatever they may be going through.
  • If you are actually called, God will honour your words in their lives. He will not allow your words to fall to the ground—when you pray for them:
19 SO SAMUEL GREW, AND THE LORD WAS WITH HIM AND LET NONE OF HIS WORDS FALL TO THE GROUND. 20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba KNEW THAT SAMUEL HAD BEEN ESTABLISHED AS A PROPHET OF THE LORD" (1 Samuel 3:19,20 NKJV).

• The vineyard given to you, to take care of is important; and your working in the field which you are apportioned should not be taken lightly.

  • The people given you are God's Vineyard to be tendered, or watched over, for Him:
"FOR we [Paul and Apollos] are God’s fellow workers [His servants working together]; YOU ARE GOD'S CULTIVATED FIELD [His garden, His vineyard], God’s building" (1 Corinthians 3:9 AMP).
  • Your material blessings would be channelled through the people you are ministering to, If you can take care of them faithfully:
"DON'T carry a bag or extra clothes or sandals or a walking stick. WORKERS [those who work for God] SHOULD BE GIVEN WHAT THEY NEED" (Matthew 10:10 New Century Version).
    READ: 1 Corinthians 9:14; Galatians 6:5
  • God has assessment cards, or score cards, where He records the performances of each chosen servant of His!
  • God will assess your work, and If you did fail, you might not be promoted. THUS, be faithful in the assignment given to you.

"AND say to Archippus, “TAKE HEED TO THE MINISTRY WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED IN THE LORD, THAT YOU MAY FULFIL IT.”
Colossians 4:17 (NKJV)

"BUT you should keep a clear mind in every situation. DON'T BE AFRAID OF SUFFERING FOR THE LORD. Work at TELLING OTHERS the Good News, AND FULLY CARRY OUT THE MINISTRY GOD HAS GIVEN YOU."
2 Timothy 4:5 (NLT)

• You will not fail in your assignment in Jesus' name.

  • Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked in Jesus' name.
    Peace!
