Obedience link
To train a horse, it is recommended that the rider mounts the horse without the use of the saddle, this is the way for the horse to feel the rider, during the training he exerts pressure with his thighs and knees on sensitive areas on the horse's back. The exercise establishes the knowledge of gestures that indicate to the horse what the rider wants.
When the horse learns to obey, a bond is established between horse and rider, which is produced by the use of the gentle and firm movements that press on his back, so that the two get to know each other.
The rider does not need to use the whip because the horse will respond meekly according to the cue he has practiced.
For us Christian children of God there are also training methods, it is different for each one, God has a personal way to deal with each one of his children.
God wants to establish a bond of union, love and friendship that teaches us to obey.
Sometimes we, the children of God, feel an impulse to pray, to read the Bible or to do some other activity of the spiritual life that leads us to seek God.
When this happens we know that it is the Holy Spirit disturbing us to meet God, during the encounter God reveals himself to us, gives us instructions, answers or tells us what he wants us to know, if we know how to obey the subtle call of God, then a link is established that teaches us to know God and to know what he wants from us.
It is important to obey because we will not always feel these impulses, the believer's life is not based on feelings but on faith, trust and obedience.
To seek God we should not and cannot wait to feel desires or stimuli, the carnal nature always has an excuse not to seek God, if we depend on our feelings the result will be a malnourished spiritual life on the verge of death.
Obeying God's dealings with us drives away the whip, there is a warning in the Bible that tells us not to be like the mule without understanding, God wants to establish discipline without resorting to scourging.
The bond allows us to be formed, it produces spiritual growth making us better instruments in the hands of God.
