“If there are dreams about a beautiful South Africa, there also roads that lead to their goal. Two of these roads could be named Goodness and Forgiveness.” These are the words of Nelson Mandela.

I want to add a third road, Anticipation.

Goodness!

On the road to goodness, we visit the beautiful Western Cape of South Africa and one of the world's most spectacular drives, Chapmans Peak. The picturesque view stretched from the fisherman's village, Hout Bay, for +/- 9 kilometers to the seaside town of Noordhoek.

Goodness starts at the Chapmans Peak Hotel for the best calamari in South Africa. From there, the road takes you on an unforgettable trip where you will have magnificent views of the Tokai Nature Reserve and Chapmans Mountain on the one side and the Atlantic Ocean with steep sandstone cliffs and marine life on the other side. Dolphins, whales, and orcas make these waters their home.

The goodness of this natural beauty spreads when 16,000+ athletes line up every year for the Two Oceans Marathon to run in unity.

Forgiveness!

The road to forgiveness takes us to the third largest canyon in the world, the Blyde River Canyon in the Province of Mpumalanga. Here you will find the highest point of Drakensberg Mountain at the top and the Blyde River (Blyde means happy) at the bottom. It hosts over 1,000 flora species and is known as the greenest canyon.

It is also home to the great Fish Eagle, Taita Falcons, and other fauna. Some natural wonders include places like God's Window and Three Rondavels (a type of hut clearly seen in the image).

The Panorama Route along the Blyde River starts at the town of Graskop. Small entrance fees are payable at the various viewpoints, but it is absolutely worth it.

Two chiefs of the Pedi and Pulana tribes forgave each other, and in solidarity, they used the flat top as their fortress to defeat one of their common enemies.

Anticipation!

As far as the natural beauty of South Africa goes, there can only be one road for anticipation, and that is the road that leads from the town of Oudtshoorn to the Swartberg Mountain, where you will find one of the seven natural wonders of my country, the 4,500 million-year-old Cango Caves.

As you line up in front of the doors, the anticipation starts to build. For over 200 years, people have been visiting these caves, and you are now one of them.

On entrance, you follow the footlights to a massive chamber. Standing there, you can hear a pin drop as the crowd is silent. When the lights are switched on, you are just filled with amazement when you see these majestic limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites that were formed drop by drop.

Some of them have been given names like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Cleopatra's Needle. You will even find a chamber called “Lot’s Chamber,” where it looks like Lot (from the Bible) and his family were formed by stalagmites.

These three roads of goodness, forgiveness and anticipation which I have been on numerous times, lead to one common goal for South Africans: protecting these natural spaces for our children and their children, and theirs…

You are so right! Indeed, we learn a lot through these contests.
I thought I had gotten to know Venezuela well through all the posts I read, but that is not the case. There is something new all the time.

As they say, there is never a boring moment on Steemit.
Thank you for the visit!

Sencillamente, genial.

Siempre es grato leerte. Gracias por estar. Un abrazo.

Yes, three massive words that can easily change our route in life.

These are just a few of the natural wonders of South Africa. I can tell you that a month's visit to my country will be too little to see and experience everything.

Thank you! I appreciate the visit and the comment. ☕

Oh yes, you have nailed it! It is a country with nature as a blessing from God.
How I wish for my fellow citizens to read what you have written. There are always complaints, and there is never enough credit for the beauty around us.
After all, what does it matter if a park doesn't have benches to sit on? Sit on the ground!
