Aunque estamos nadando contra la corriente, hemos llegado a la edición 51 de "Arte y Escritura", lo cual me llena de mucha satisfacción. Para esta edición, les traigo como invitado al español José Jiménez Aranda.

Este destacado artista nació en Sevilla el 7 de febrero de 1837. Se formó como artista en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría de Sevilla.

Desde el año 1881 vivió en París hasta 1890. Luego se mudó a Madrid, donde se decantó por el movimiento costumbrista.

En el año 1892, a raíz de la muerte de su mujer y de su hija, regresó a Sevilla y se convirtió en profesor de la Academia de Bellas Artes hasta el año 1897.

Falleció el 6 de mayo de 1903 en Sevilla.

Although we are swimming against the current, we have reached the 51st edition of "Art and Writing", which fills me with great satisfaction. For this edition, I bring you as a guest the Spanish José Jiménez Aranda.

This outstanding artist was born in Seville on February 7, 1837. He trained as an artist at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville.

From 1881 he lived in Paris until 1890. Then he moved to Madrid, where he opted for the costumbrista movement.

In 1892, following the death of his wife and daughter, he returned to Seville and became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts until 1897.

He died on May 6, 1903 in Seville.

Below we will present three of his works so that you can choose the one that most motivates you to write. The first is called: "Figaro's shop" (1875), the second, "A slave for sale" (1897) and the third "A set in the bullring" (1870)
