Saludos a todos, este 17 de Mayo se celebró el Día Mundial de Internet y siendo una fecha de tal importancia no podía simplemente dejarla pasar sin realizar un post inherente a la misma, y es que desde el año 2005 por iniciativa de Asociación de Usuarios de Internet se impulsó conjuntamente con otras agrupaciones que se dedicara un día del año a destacar el valor de internet en nuestras vidas y reflexionar acerca de ella. Vale destacar que en principio la efemérides relativa no se fijó para el 17 de Mayo sino para el 25 de Octubre, sin embargo, en Noviembre de ese mismo año en Túnez se propuso a la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) que se promoviera esta celebración el 17 de Mayo y en efecto así quedó establecida ampliando su alcance para denominarse igualmente Día Mundial de las Telecomunicaciones de la Sociedad de la Información, hecho que está ampliamente registrado, documentado divulgado en la web.
Greetings to all, this May 17th the World Internet Day was celebrated and being such an important date I could not simply let it pass without making an inherent post, since 2005 on the initiative of Association of Internet Users was promoted together with other groups to dedicate one day of the year to highlight the value of the Internet in our lives and reflect on it. It is worth noting that in principle the relative anniversary was not set for May 17 but for October 25, however, in November of that same year in Tunisia it was proposed to the United Nations (UN) to promote this celebration on May 17 and in effect it was established thus expanding its scope to also be called World Telecommunications Day of the Information Society, a fact that is widely registered, documented and disclosed on the web.
Como bien se señala en el propósito de la celebración, la ocasión es propicia para reflexionar sobre el papel que juega la internet en la sociedad y cómo ésta ha impactado a la humanidad, por lo cual la primera característica de impacto de este importante fenómeno tiene que ver con el hecho de que a partir de su nacimiento, la web ha impulsado de forma indetenible la globalización del conocimiento y la información, conectándonos con fuentes y recursos de interés accesibles y disponibles en cualquier parte del mundo, lo cual ha redundado en beneficio de ámbitos de acción humana como por ejemplo el aspecto laboral y educativo. Indudablemente todo el ámbito científico se ha fortalecido porque es posible conocer el estado del arte de los diferentes objetos y fenómenos que se estudian en las diversidad de ciencias existentes, entre otros usos.
As well indicated in the purpose of the celebration, the occasion is propitious to reflect on the role that the internet plays in society and how it has impacted humanity, for which the first characteristic of impact of this important phenomenon has to to do with the fact that since its birth, the web has unstoppably promoted the globalization of knowledge and information, connecting us with sources and resources of interest accessible and available anywhere in the world, which has redounded to the benefit of areas of human action such as work and education. Undoubtedly, the entire scientific field has been strengthened because it is possible to know the state of the art of the different objects and phenomena that are studied in the diversity of existing sciences, among other uses.
Si bien es cierto, que antes de la existencia de internet abundaba una gran variedad de dispositivos tecnológicos que de muchas maneras han hecho más fácil la vida humana, no se disponía de un elemento fundamental que permitiera la interconexión global y planetaria no sólo a nivel de datos e información sino también a nivel de relaciones interpersonales a distancia. Hoy en día, de la mano de internet mucha de la actividad que antes se llevaba a cabo por medio de dispositivos físicos ha saltado al espectro virtual o actividad en línea, espacio en el cual existen infinidad de aplicaciones de diversa índole que permiten una interconexión humana fluida, en tiempo real y muy dinámica. Uno de las actividades más beneficiadas con la internet en la actualidad tiene que ver con el aspecto de las comunicaciones el cual se ha diversificado y ramificado de forma impresionante permitiendo una agradable interacción entre usuarios no sólo a nivel textual sino en una suerte de cara a cara mediante conexión audiovisual.
Although it is true that before the existence of the Internet there was a great variety of technological devices that in many ways have made human life easier, there was no fundamental element that would allow global and planetary interconnection not only at the level of data and information but also at the level of distance interpersonal relationships. Nowadays, thanks to the internet, much of the activity that was previously carried out through physical devices has jumped into the virtual spectrum or online activity, a space in which there are countless applications of various kinds that allow human interconnection fluid, in real time and very dynamic. One of the most benefited activities with the internet today has to do with the communication aspect, which has diversified and branched out in an impressive way, allowing a pleasant interaction between users not only at the textual level but also in a face-to-face manner. via audiovisual connection.
Hoy en día, dada la pandemia por Covid19, internet ha cobrado una importancia suprema en tanto que en muchos países ha permitido en gran medida la continuidad de actividades laborales y educativas las cuales, entre muchas actividades humanas, debido a las necesarias cuarentenas, tuvieron que detenerse en la presencialidad física para pasar a la presencialidad virtual o a distancia. Adicionalmente, otra actividad que en principio de la pandemia de vio fuertemente afectada por la medida de distanciamiento social fue el comercio e intercambio económico que afortunadamente, gracias a la conectividad a internet, el paradigma de la economía digital se abrió paso en nuestras vidas. No obstante, no todo es color rosa, en unos países más que en otros la brecha digital es notoria, muchos de momento se han quedado atrás debido a que al momento en que se impuso la realidad signada por el Covid19 no disponían de equipos, dispositivos y conexión estable a internet que les permitiera ir a la par de los que si contaban con estos recursos. En este sentido, desde la ONU, OIT y UNESCO se ha insistido en una campaña marcada por frases como no dejemos a nadie atrás, todos sin excepción con el propósito de crear conciencia social en torno a la necesidad de equipos y conexión a internet para todos, tomando en cuenta de que en esta realidad, esperemos que transitoria, todas las relaciones sociales, laborales y educativas son llevadas a cabo en línea. De igual forma han sugerido a los gobiernos del mundo que se amplíen presupuestos inherentes a tales propósitos, incluso, hay iniciativas que ya se están haciendo sentir en las redes sociales de estos organismos internacionales en las cuales se reflexiona y hasta se insta a declarar el acceso a internet como un derecho humano fundamental.

In this sense, the UN, ILO and UNESCO have insisted on a campaign marked by phrases such as let's not leave anyone behind, all without exception with the purpose of creating social awareness around the need equipment and internet connection for all, taking into account that in this reality, hopefully transitory, all social, work and educational relationships are carried out online. In the same way, they have suggested to the governments of the world that budgets inherent to such purposes be expanded, there are even initiatives that are already being felt in the social networks of these international organizations in which they reflect and even urge to declare internet access as a fundamental human right.
Por otro lado, también en importante destacar el hecho de que así como internet presenta infinidad de bondades, ventajas y beneficios para la humanidad también es un ámbito de alto riesgo para los que no articulan su uso con responsabilidad, por lo cual es altamente recomendable que todos los usuarios de entornos virtuales estén siempre atentos a la temática de la ciberseguridad, de esa manera garantizarán una experiencia digital exitosa y sin complicaciones.
On the other hand, it is also important to highlight the fact that just as the internet has many benefits, advantages and benefits for humanity, it is also a high risk area for those who do not articulate its use responsibly, for which it is highly recommended that all users of virtual environments are always attentive to the issue of cybersecurity, thus guaranteeing a successful and hassle-free digital experience.
