Small chapel
The promontory
If you walk completely along the beach of Potos, you come to a small cliff that ends in a kind of headland. This continues for a few hundred metres. Until now, I had never been there in all these years, but I really wanted to try it out this year. On the way, I passed a small chapel, among other things. It was news to me that there was a chapel here, as it is not visible from far away.

If you continue past the church, you will soon reach a small path, where it goes down more or less steeply to the left and right and you can see the sea on both sides. On the left you can see a 4 or 5 star hotel with its own beach and on the right you can see Potos, where I came from. In the picture you can see quite easily that really only small areas of the island are populated, and that the beach in Potos is quite long. Which I had already mentioned in one or two other posts. By the time I reached this point, about 45 minutes had passed - not because the walk is so incredibly long, but because I was more or less wearing slippers. I didn't realise beforehand that I would actually be doing a mini hike. This happened more or less, much like in the film Forrest Gump. "When I was all the way there, I thought to myself, why don't I just keep walking?" - something like that. But I have to say I didn't regret it. I've never seen Potos from this angle before.

So now I was on the road for 45 minutes - and at the end of the island is: Nothing. Not that I was expecting much, but here at the end of the island, the path simply ended and there was nothing more than a view of the sea. So I went back again.

Wenn man den Strand von Potos komplett entlang läuft, kommt man an eine kleine Klippe die in einer Art Landzunge endet. Diese geht noch einige hundert Meter weiter. Bis jetzt war ich in all den Jahren noch nie dort, wollte es dieses Jahr aber unbedingt einmal ausprobieren. Auf dem Weg kam ich unteranderem an einer kleinen Kapelle vorbei. Das sich an dieser Stelle eine Kapelle befindet war mir neu, da diese von weitem nicht zu erkennen ist.

Wenn man an der Kirche weiter geht erreicht man recht schnell einen nur kleinen Pfad, wo es links und rechts mehr oder weniger recht steil nach unten geht und man zu beiden Seiten das Meer sieht. Auf der linken Seite sieht man ein 4 oder 5 Sterne Hotel mit eigenem Strand und auf der rechten Seite sieht man Potos, wo ich hergekommen bin. Auf dem Bild kann man recht leicht erkennen, dass wirklich nur kleine Bereiche der Insel besiedelt sind, und dass der Strand in Potos recht lang ist. Was ich schon in dem ein oder anderen Post erwähnt hatte. Bis ich an diesen Punkt angekommen bin sind ca. 45 Minuten vergangen - nicht weil der Weg so unglaublich lange ist, sondern weil ich mehr oder weniger Badeschlappen anhatte. Mir war vorher nicht bewusst, dass ich wirklich eine Miniwanderung machen werde. Dies ist mehr oder weniger, ähnlich wie im Film Forrest Gump passiert. "Als ich schon so weit war, hab ich mir gedacht, wieso lauf ich nicht einfach weiter." - so oder so ähnlich. Ich muss aber sagen bereut habe ich es nicht. Aus diesem Winkel habe ich Potos noch nie gesehen.

Nun war ich also 45 Minuten unterwegs - und am Ende der Insel ist: Nichts. Also nicht das ich großartig was erwartet habe, aber hier am Ende der Insel, endete einfach der Trampelpfad und mehr als einen Blick aufs Meer gab es hier nicht zu sehen. Also ging ich wieder zurück.
