I don't necessarily think that history repeats itself. But: that we humans have a limited horizon and can't get out of our skin. In other words: we act predictably and within our moulds. That probably leads to history repeating itself...
I think we can find something in anything. Some things are repeated but some not, the same like a big leaders of countries who bring countries to their prosper like Roman Empire that extended itself till Britain. Egyptian with Pharaohs reached its prosper and Chinggis Khan when he reached almost to Europe and what is now in those countries.Despite of that people do not learn their lessons, they never have enough. Sad but that is life.
