Texas and USC Lead All NCAA Schools with Three National Championships

In a tally of all NCAA Division I National Championships, both USC and Texas managed to bring home three trophies. The Longhorns hailing from the state of Texas were the best in the land in men's swimming and diving, rowing, and women's tennis, while the Trojans from Southern California brought home the hardware in women's outdoor track and field, beach volleyball, and water polo. With regard to specific conference, the SEC had eight national championships brought home by member schools. The Alabama Crimson Tide won it all in football, Kentucky was supreme in rifle and women's volleyball, Arkansas reigned supreme in women's track and field, Mississippi St. captured the College World Series baseball title in Omaha, Ole Miss ladies were the best on the golf course, the Florida men captured the tennis title, and LSU captured the men's outdoor track and field banner.
