A student of Dhaka College named Shakeel has been arrested by the police on the charge of spreading objectionable pictures and videos using a fake ID in the name of his lover.

A team of Fulgazi police station arrested him from Melandah area of Jamalpur on Sunday (October 4).

According to the police and related sources, Shakil, an Honors student of Dhaka College, developed a romantic relationship with a Hindu student of Tangail Medical Assistant Training School. Shakeel's house is in Jamalpur and that girl's house is in Fulgazi in Feni. At some point, the student changed her mobile number when there was a distance between the two. Infuriated by this, Shakil created a fake ID on Facebook in the name of the student and started promoting various offensive pictures and videos. Later, the victim student filed a case under Digital Security Act at Phulghazi police station.

Fulgazi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Moin Uddin said that the accused Shakeel was arrested from Jamalpur after filing the case. Mobile, pen drive and memory card were seized from him. Later, when he was produced before the court, he was sent to jail after recording his confessional statement.

Four more people died in different wards of Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital Corona Unit. One of them got infected with corona and three died with symptoms.

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, director of Ramek Hospital, confirmed the matter on Monday (October 4) morning.
