The Beijing Youth Daily reported that authorities in Beijing had also closed the Raffles City mall in Dongcheng - also a central district in the capital, after close contact of someone with Covid-19 was found to have visited the mall.
The move came as 6 new cases were detected in the central districts of Chaoyang and Haidian in Beijing on Thursday (11/11) morning.

The shopping mall exit point has been closed and all staff and people inside the mall are not allowed to leave until they are tested.
Video shared on social media platform Weibo shows a crowd of shoppers cursing masks, queuing up to be tested inside a shopping mall. The mall remains closed on Thursday (11/11). The latest spike came during a high-level meeting of Communist Party leaders in Beijing.
Meanwhile, health officials in Beijing said more than 280 close contacts had been identified, with nearly 12,000 people being screened for the virus in Chaoyang and Haidian districts.
This report on the spread of Covid-19 comes after China curbed the widespread spread of the virus through rapid lockdowns, mass testing and travel restrictions. However, authorities are now on high alert due to a nationwide spike in domestic travel in the past month.
