Los ajies picantes o chiles son utilizados para hacer salsa picante o gusacacas, es la especialidad de la casa de los mexicanos por su tradicion de comer mucho picante,aunque existen unos mas picantes que otros me encanta comer picante en las hallacas en navidad en los bollitos con carnes picantes entre otros.

Esta plantas son ornamentales su fruto en un baya alargada de color verde cuando esta maduro se torna amarillo y si se pasa de maduro se pone rojo, se pueden cultivar facilmente en macetero o directamente en la tierra y una planta puede producir hasta 50 frutos
