En esta oportunidad quiero reflexionar sobre un tema que desde hace algún tiempo me viene haciendo ruido y creo que éste es el momento propicio para hablar al respecto: se trata de los héroes. No sé si se han dado cuenta, pero desde hace algunos años hasta la actualidad se viene dando en la sociedad global un repunte significativo en relación a esta temática y que encuentra un particular auge en las preferencias cinematográficas del momento. Recordemos que históricamente el arte en todas sus expresiones siempre ha sido un vehículo para manifestar los sentimientos y perspectivas de un determinado sector de la humanidad, y que desde la aparición del internet que ha permitido la masificación del sentir humano, se ha globalizado este accionar.

This time I want to reflect on an issue that has been making noise for some time and I think this is the right moment to talk about it: it is about heroes. I do not know if they have realized it, but for some years now, global society has been experiencing a significant upswing in relation to this issue and that finds a particular boom in the cinematographic preferences of the moment. Let us remember that historically art in all its expressions has always been a vehicle to express the feelings and perspectives of a certain sector of humanity, and that since the appearance of the internet, which has allowed the massification of human feeling, this action has been globalized.

Podemos darnos cuenta de esto, en la creciente expansión y demanda de producciones cinematográficas de Marvel, DC, incluso Star Wars (como algunas de las más destacadas) las cuales han desatado una euforia y fascinación colectiva en torno a este fenómeno. El éxito ha sido de tal magnitud que algunas de las más más destacadas ha saltado a los escenarios de premiación más renombrados con importantes logros. Ahora bien, este post lejos de convertirse en un análisis de las artes y espectáculos de la actualidad pretende desnudar una realidad intrínseca de la cual no se está reflexionando y que se encuentra eclipsada por la estruendosa admiración colectiva a las películas y series derivadas de historietas, y no es más que el hecho de que hay un sentimiento global en la humanidad de necesitar héroes por cualesquiera que sean las razones personales o colectivas de ser salvados de algo que al parecer es incontrolable desde las cualidades y potencialidades meramente humanas.

Now, this post, far from becoming an analysis of the arts and shows of today, aims to expose an intrinsic reality that is not being reflected on and that is overshadowed by the thunderous collective admiration of films and series derived from comics, and it is nothing more than the fact that there is a global feeling in humanity of needing heroes for whatever personal or collective reasons are to be saved from something that seems to be uncontrollable from merely human qualities and potentialities.

Es muy probable que las personas, dependiendo de la realidad circundante o entorno inmediato (local, nacional, mundial), agobiados por los pesares de su diario vivir estén manifestando de forma creciente, consciente o inconscientemente, sensaciones de estar atrapados y sin salida a pesar de que de hecho pueda no ser así, en tanto que salimos de casa, interactuamos con familiares y amigos bien sea de forma física o por interacción mediada por la virtualidad, es decir, hay libertad de desplazamiento, interacción y decisión, al menos eso parece, no obstante, pareciera no ser suficiente para las aspiraciones humanas de autorrealización, por ejemplo. Como bien sabemos cada ser humano dependiendo de su ámbito de acción inmediata tiene aspiraciones, metas y propósitos de vida, que al confrontarse con las dificultades cotidianas que puedan limitarlas, puede producir una sensación de necesitar algo más allá de sus fuerzas para lograr alcanzarlas.

En este sentido, se comienzan a idealizar seres con cualidades especiales y sobrehumanas que logren vencer tales dificultades y permitan que el mundo sea garantía del equilibrio y bienestar buscado, mucho más si los obstáculos parecieran ser ilimitados. Esta búsqueda podría darse incluso en el terreno de la realidad, donde no hay seres con poderes fantasiosamente fuera de lo que consideramos normal, sin embargo, se aspira encontrar personas que tengan la capacidad de derribar obstáculos y de obtener logros colectivos donde muchos puedan ser beneficiados. Este sentir, en muchos casos, puede ser de alto riesgo si al ser esta realidad identificada es capitalizada por personas que buscan poder pero no necesariamente para un bien colectivo aunque enmascaren sus intenciones como tal. Remember that many are leaders, but not necessarily their leadership is positive as expected.

El hecho es que si la sociedad global de forma tácita o expresa anda en busca de héroes es porque de alguna forma (directa o indirecta) se sienten asediados por villanos (personas con liderazgo negativo), que si bien tienen momentánea y aparente ventajas sobre otros, todos los pronósticos y la historia humana señala que al final siempre son vencidos. En sintonía con este principio universal, es importante tener en cuenta que los villanos o sus villanías no se derrotan sólo en un desenlace, a diario y en cada batalla los héroes pueden lograr victorias si así lo deciden, esto es, si perseveran en insisten en imponer el bien en cada acción en contraposición al mal ocasionado.

Desde esta perspectiva, es válido señalar que todos los seres humanos tenemos superpoderes y por tanto si los usamos racionalmente y con sabiduría podemos vencer cualquier obstáculo que se nos presente en la vida, ahora bien, ¿por qué no los usamos?, sencillo, estamos tan distraídos en buscar en otros ese superhéroe perfectamente idealizado en historietas y producciones cinematográficas (entre otras formas idealizadas) que no logramos darnos cuenta de nuestras cualidades propias, o quizás nos falta un ingrediente fundamental conocido por todos para imponer nuestro heroísmo: confianza en nosotros mismos. Sin autoconfianza, o mejor aún, sin autoestima es prácticamente imposible tener logros, incluso si se trata de alguien con superfuerza, supervelocidad, indestructibilidad, capacidad de volar, invisibilidad o capacidad de lanzar rayos de energías con sus ojos y manos, y allí, todas las historias de superhéroes dan cuenta de eso, de hecho, los expertos en estos temas saben que el camino heroico comienza cuando la autoconfianza se abre paso.

From this perspective, it is valid to point out that all human beings have superpowers and therefore if we use them rationally and wisely we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way in life, now, why don't we use them? , simple, we are so distracted in looking in others that perfectly idealized superhero in comics and film productions (among other idealized forms) that we fail to realize our own qualities, or perhaps we lack a fundamental ingredient known to all to impose our heroism: confidence in ourselves. Without self-confidence, or better yet, without self-esteem it is practically impossible to achieve, even if it is someone with super strength, super speed, indestructibility, ability to fly, invisibility or ability to launch beams of energies with their eyes and hands, and there, all the stories of superheroes realize that, in fact, experts in these subjects know that the heroic path begins when self-confidence makes its way.

En adición, cuando afirmo que todos tenemos superpoderes, puedo dar algunos ejemplos de ello, en el caso especial de mi Venezuela (pero aplicable a cualquier lugar del mundo), que como muchos saben y viven, atraviesa una emergencia humanitaria de dantescas proporciones:

• Un señor que sabe que su vecino no tiene provisiones alimenticias para su familia y que frecuentemente pasan hambre, toma la decisión de compartir sus provisiones con ellos sin duda está usando el superpoder de la bondad.

• Una joven que para mantener a su familia intenta sin descanso muchas opciones honestas de proveer a su familia, y al final, luego de muchos intentos fallidos lo logra, está activando su superpoder de la perseverancia.

• Padres y madres que en medio de la pandemia por Covid19 y las necesarias cuarentenas para cortar las cadenas de transmisión, cada día inventan un sin fin de actividades divertidas para que sus pequeños hijos no perciban el encierro y estén a salvo están usando al máximo el superpoder de la creatividad.

• Una madre soltera, que apenas logra conseguir alimentos para sus hijos, reduce sus propias porciones alimenticias o deja de comer para que ellos puedan alimentarse mejor, está usando el mayor y más grande superpoder conocido en el planeta: el AMOR.

In addition, when I affirm that we all have superpowers, I can give some examples of this, in the special case of my Venezuela (but applicable to any part of the world), which as many know and live, is going through a humanitarian emergency of daunting proportions:

• A man who knows that his neighbor does not have food supplies for his family and that they frequently go hungry, makes the decision to share his provisions with them without a doubt he is using the super power of goodness.

• A young woman who tries tirelessly to support her family with many honest options to provide for her family, and in the end, after many unsuccessful attempts she succeeds, she is activating her superpower of perseverance .

• Parents who in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic and the necessary quarantines to cut the transmission chains, every day invent endless fun activities so that their young children do not perceive the confinement and are safe are using the maximum super power of creativity.

• A single mother, who barely manages to get food for her children, reduces her own food portions or stops eating so that they can eat better, she is using the greatest and greatest superpower known on the planet: LOVE.

Como podemos darnos cuenta, tenemos superpoderes, cada uno, con cualidades muy bien definidas y los usamos a diario aún sin darnos cuentas, es por ello que la próxima vez que sintamos la necesidad de buscar héroes que nos salven de situaciones aparentemente fuera de nuestro control, los invito a mirar al espejo, seguro que allí van a encontrar al mejor de todos.
