The word slavery is an ancient term that many nations frown to be associated with given the bad name it Earned them during the slavery era. However, instead of being completely eradicated, it has mutated into diverse forms this present time. Let's get seated and enjoy my drive.

Child slavery will not only mean a situation where people are bought over and taken to their owner's abode for hard labor. It has mutated into various forms to this day and for me, it simply means "Child maltreatment".

When we take other people's children for purposes of maid services. They live with us but we are unable to treat them less than we treat our children. They still do chores but we fail to give them the basic comfort of life.

When we use children (ours and others) around us for street hawking. This is a common site on this side of the divide. We see children littering our streets without seeing the walls of school. They are exposed to the environmental and human hazards of our streets.

In general, it means child maltreatment and molestation which may come from child street hawking, sexual harassment, denial of the basic life requirements, and engaging them in jobs way higher than their ages.

This is a bad trajectory when allowed to continue. It is a crime against humanity because those involved are usually underprivileged or in need. Taking advantage of one's situation is one act of wickedness we have to stop.

Most of the impacts observed here are negative and are vices capable of undermining the child's living condition. Imagine a situation where they are pushed to start indulging in work they shouldn't ordinarily do. They are both physically and mentally impacted negatively.

If they are used for sex satisfaction, we could also imagine the damaging effect will get going forward both morally, health-wise, and psychologically.

When they are continually exposed and predisposed to an advanced environment at a tender age, they tend to learn those things that are mostly inimical to society.

The government is a key player in this sector. They have the wand on their side to do and undo whatever they find uneasing when it comes to child slavery.

In our present-day society, so many advanced countries have a law on the child use act. A law that forbids the abuse of children and who a child is with their necessary rights. In this law, there is a certain age they are not expected to work and also the kind of jobs expected to be taken.

Laws like this are effective in helping to eradicate most concerns about child slavery and forced labor. But at the same time, we may find some private organizations compromising this law. It is in our best interest to be the eyewitness and report violations of this nature.

It is fundamental for children to have freedom.to fully develop and fulfill their dreams. But these child rights have been bastardized by the government's inability to fulfill its obligations.

Come to think of it, no parent should be happy that their children are been subjected to forced force just to make ends meet. This only happens when they can no longer fulfill their financial obligation in the home.

On the other side, government policies should be one that should drive the fulfillment of all basic requirements of all their citizens either through direct intervention or indirectly by the provision of avenues to reduce family burdens.

A fulfilled destiny is a reduced crime rate in society. A child who successfully learns craft or skills as the case may be would be gainfully engaged without thinking of third-party influences that corrupt them.
