I found it around the dim light one cloudy afternoon. It was alone there, survived during the hot season, but it will be gone shortly. This mushroom is closely related to the smaller pinwheel mushrooms. This one was close to the diameter of a nickel. Known as Marasmius delectans, a large genus of small saprotrophic mushrooms that used to be seen growing on the rotten logs.

As we know, mushrooms grow in every habitat, and you certainly don’t need to go to a nature reserve to find your first toadstools: there will more than likely be several species in your garden.

The mushrooms bloom from filament-like strands or threads (known as mycelium) that grow in the wood. It is an edible mushroom, but it is fragile and insubstantial that they are not worth harvesting. As most of them grew in the shady spot, I managed to take them out to the light.
