Hello great Steemians, I'm happy to be here again. I trust we are all doing well. My appreciation goes to the organisers of this weekly contest, I do appreciate your time and effort for bringing up new engagements on a weekly bases to keep us going. Today I'll be talking on "My country; My Home."

This will be explain following the guide given for this contest. Stay tuned.

Tell us about your Home (country), a brief history, will be an added advantage

The history of my home can be traced back to 1960s where Nigerians got her independence. This is a state of becoming free from external bodies and having control over life.

But it might interest you to know that Nigerians had passed through a lot of challenges before gaining Independence. However, in 1914 there was need for togetherness (Amalgamation), this made Nigerians to see themselves as one.

The Pre-Colonial Administration in Nigeria

The Pre-colonial administration in Nigeria was part of Nigerian's history. The Pre stands for "Before". This simply means before the coming of the white men in Nigeria. Before now, there were certain rules and guides that was governing Nigerians before the advent of the white man.

The Precolonial administration in Nigeria was called the Emirate system. The emirate system was introduced by an Islamic scholar called Usmandan Fodio, this was through a Jihad after the capturing of the 10 hausa's states.

The Emirs were the chief executive officers and heads of religion affairs called Islamic religion. He was also assisted by a number of officials who help him in the execution of the sharia's law.

Below are some of the officials

• Waziri - Act as the prime minister
• Madaki - Commander of the Army
• Galadima - He was in charge of the capital tertiary
• SarkinFada - He was in charge of place of work
• SarkinRuwa - He was in charge of fishing festival and others.

The implication was, an Emir has no power to make a law. He was only operating with the sharia law that was handed over to him. Here, he can only make a law when a matter comes up that is not enshrined in the sharia law. Note, an Emir has the right to pass death sentences over a culprit and also have the power of mercy.

Why do you think your country is unique? Share at least 3 points.

My country Nigeria is unique in this three points below:

• Language
• Dressing
• Food

The three points above can not be over emphasized. Nigeria has three major ethnic groups. Namely: Hausa, Yorubas, and the Igbos.

These three different ethnic groups has different languages, culture and tradition and this has made the people of Nigeria to be very Unique.

Would you leave your country to settle in another if an opportunity shows up? Back up your answer with reasons.

The answer to this question is yes. If I have an opportunity outside my country, I would love to leave for it. This is because traveling is part of education. For you to move on, you need to leave your comfort zone and if I should get an opportunity to go out of my country, it should be an added advantage to learn what I don't know and to create new relationships with others.

What areas of your home (country) would you love to see an improvement?

I would love to see an improvement in the government sector. Where they can restructure the country for better living. Mostly in terms of electricity, good road, shelter and provision of water. The security aspect is not left out and most especially, creating jobs for young graduates.

If those areas can be handle properly, then Nigeria will become one of the most lovely country to dwell in.

In conclusion, my country; my home is one of the best place to live because of the unique culture and traditions of our people, not to talk of the different food we have.

I'm inviting @cive40, @dirapa, and @yhudy to be part of this contest.

I hope you found value. Thank you for reading this far.
