The Diary Game: 28th/08th/2022 || A very important day

When you have lost a very important soul to death, like a mom, I am certain there will be a day scheduled for her remembrance, either the date of the dead’s birth or that of the dead’s death.

It's been 7 years since mom died, every August 20th(death date), we dedicate that day to her remembrance, and as such, we organize prayer on that day by inviting clerics and other family friends and close relatives to join us in praying for the her, we do this every year since she died but

This year, it wasn't possible on the usual date because of unforeseen circumstances, but today it was possible, we had planned it throughout the week, and thanks to the supports of every member of the family, the memorial was possible.

Being the first fruit of this woman I was supposed to be at home before today but I couldn't for some reasons and as such this early morning before 7 am I had set foot outside having done with all of the house chores.

The journey took 2 hours 30 minutes to get home because of bad and wet road, riders have to be careful as such the ride from every stop to another was time-consuming.

Getting home some minutes before 10 am, I was so tired and hungry but at first, I had a shower and after that, I was served spaghetti. The prayer was scheduled at noon with a take-home of bean cake after, beans was bought and peeled,

the bean skin was separated through seiving and when all the bean skin had been peeled off, other ingredients like pepper and onions were added to it before it was then grounded.

While preparing to fry the bean cake the prayer also started on the arrival of the clerics, friends, and close relatives who were chanced to attend the memorial.

For all our dead, we can only seek forgiveness on their behalf, we were lectured on the importance of making memorials for our dead, we prayed and also recited the holy Quran, in an hour and thirty minutes the prayer ended and we were all served respectively.

The distribution was swift and the snack wasn't enough such that we couldn't share with our neighbors as we usually do every year.

As the time runs by we tided everywhere, sweeping, cleaning and washing all of the used items, As time keeps running so is my movement back to my residence, meaning I rushed down to my apartment before the night in another long journey, it was an emotional day for me, having remembered her brough back memories, buta cool though, I believe she is in a good place.

A journey of 5 hours to and fro, I was so so tired getting home, after an hour rest, I showed and retired for the day after penning down this piece.
