Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 33: Mother's Love; a time to celebrate and cherish

Welcome to my blog. I can't miss sharing in this interesting contest as it talks about the area of which I belong.
I would have love to defined who a mother is but question one below technically demands that as an answer.

In your understanding, who is considered a mother, and what are the duties of a mother?

A lot of people understands motherhood differently based on their age, life's experience and circumstances. In my own understanding and as a mother that I am. A mother is a person or someone who love, care, provide, support and most importantly care for her child or children.
This love, care, affection, support and protection can comes from a biological mother, adoptive mother, stepmother or any adult woman who stands in for a person as a mother but the love of a biological mother supercedes that of every other mother.

Mother's duties can not be overestimated because they have a whole lot to do. I will mention some of the duties of a mother.

• A mother provides for her children's physical and material need such as cooking for them, washing their clothes, supporting them and attending to some of their other needs.
• It is mostly the responsibility of a mother to teach her children values most especially the girl child guide them in making wise choices.
• A mother sometimes provides food and shelter for her children by working hard to make sure the children are well taken care of.
• Some mother to their children dropped her children in school and also picked them up.
• A mother takes care of the home by cleaning it regularly and also teaching her children how to clean the home.
• A mother can enlightens her children about the world, developing a sense of self worth and confident as well as finding their place in the world.

What are some of the sacrifices that mothers make for their children?

There are so many sacrifices that mothers do make for her children. Some of them are;

• Mothers sacrefices their time, their energy and denied themselves of some leisures to care for her children.
• Some mothers do let go of their careers, their ambitions or even their finances just to be their children, care and provides for them.
• Mothers risk their life to bring life to this world, through the process of pregnancy and child's birth.
• They sacrifices their health, their body shapes and their wellbeing to make sure thier children are happy.

How does a mother's love shape a person's character and development?

The way a mother loves her children can have a great impact in the life of her children and this can shape her children's characters, personalities and thier all round development.
When a mother showers her chidlren with love, this will affect the way the children will treat other people. The child will grow up with the habit of showing compassion to other and being pathetic.
Him or her can grow up to develop a stronng sense of self worth and security due to the mothers love and care.
A mother's love can make a child to grow up become successful and influential.

How can we celebrate and show appreciation for our mothers and their love?

There are so many ways to celebrate our mother and this should not be pused to special day or time of the year.

We can celebrate our mothers

• By showing them respect no matter what we have become or accomplished in life.
• By spending quality times with them, asking them how they cope life, their health, their challenges and success stories.
• By always being available for them especially when they need us.
• By buying gift for her, running errands which includes cooking, washing and cleaning her house.
• Taking her on a tour and visiting places of interest with her.

They are thousands of things we can do for our mother to show that we appreciate them.
We can choose to celebrate our mother everyday with the little that we have.
