Hallo is all Steemian's friend. this time I will share a typical Aceh pepes fish recipe. Have you ever heard or tasted Aceh's typical pepes fish? This pepes fish is made from small bilis fish. Although this Anchovy fish is small, it will still have the same delicacy as other types of fish.

Ingredients

  • Dried Anchovy
  • Red onion
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Dry star fruit
  • Lime leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Banana heart
  • Banana leaves as a wrap

  • First, clean the fish thoroughly until it is clean. The fish I use is a mixture of bilis and small jenara fish.After that the fish that has been cleaned are given enough salt and also lime juice to get rid of the fishy smell in the fish.

  • This is the essence of the banana heart. The outside is thrown away and only ei takes the inside which has a soft and soft texture.

  • After the banana heart is peeled and removed from the outside. Next, the banana flower is chopped into small pieces.After finishing finely chopped, the banana heart is crushed in the water by squeezing and it will release blackish water, the water is discarded and replaced with new water. Do this three times, and finally squeeze the banana flower until it dries a little.

  • Puree all ingredients such as onions and garlic also dried star fruit, and ginger. You can add some cayenne pepper if you want it to taste spicy.

  • Combine finely chopped banana heart with fish. Add a little salt and turmeric powder, add the curry leaves, and finely chopped kaffir lime leaves. Enter also the dried star fruit acid that has been crushed. Finally, give half a small glass of cooking oil.

  • Combine all ingredients and stir until evenly distributed. prepare banana leaves to wrap Pepes fish.

  • After all the fish are finished wrapped in banana leaves. Add a little water in the pan filled with pepes fish.

  • Cover the pan containing the pepes fish and wait about 45 minutes for the water in the pan to dry and the pepes fish is cooked.

Pepes fish is ready to be served. I eat pepes fish accompanied by yellow rice.
