Last week saturday, we met with some Youth Corps members concerning steemit and told them how interesting and enjoyable it feels to be a part of the Steemit Family. Now that brings us to this question, Who are the Youth Corps?

The Youth Corps are Graduates from different tertiary institutions across Nigeria below the age limit of Thirty(30) years, This Graduates are enrolled in to a one year service program known as National Youth Service Corps.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian government during the military regime to involve Nigerian graduates in building and developing the country. There is no military conscription in Nigeria which means there is no mandatory enrollment of people in the military, since 1973 graduates of universities and polytechnics have been required to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program for one year. Under that one year of service to the country, you can't leave the country or travel abroad for any reason except on special health reasons.

When and Why was NYSC created?

NYSC was created on 22nd of May 1973, it was created by General Yakubu Gowon, the military head of state then as an avenue for reconciliation, reconstruction, and rebuilding of the country after the civil war. It was established based on National decree No. 24 that states that the program was created "with an aim to properly encourage and develop common ties among the different ethnic groups, believes and languages in Nigeria and to promote the youths of Nigeria and enhance national unity"

On saturday, we met two Youth Corps who after brief explanation showed interest but due to Network issues, they asked us to book a date with them on Thursday when they will be less busy so we collected the number of their CL who is the person that approves any movement that concerns the interest of his fellow youth corps. We booked time and date with him and he told us that thursday is the day when every corper report to their general camp or Lodge and he asked us to come by 12noon.

Yesterday by 12noon as arranged, me and @starrchris, @dybastos, @bright6126, @liams, @anyiglobal went to meet the youth corpers. On arrival, we called the CL and he bid us entry and helped to introduce us to some of his colleagues and we succesfully registered eight people @bennietah and Her friends(Chiamaka and Tracy) was registered... After registeration, we did some dancing with @dybastos who is a top entertainer and one of our team members under @starrchris our team leader...

It was fun helping to put through the newbies who paid rapt attention to every instruction and guidelines given to them.
