[Poem] Sunday Slowness
The alarm clock sleeps, a gentle hush descends,
No weekday rush, a day that sweetly bends.
Sunlight streams in, painting squares on the floor,
A lazy languor seeps through every door.
Pancakes sizzle, coffee's warm embrace,
A book unread, a smile upon my face.
Time stretches long, a canvas yet to fill,
With dreams and plans, or simply sitting still.
A walk in the park, the breeze whispers low,
Children's laughter, a river's gentle flow.
Ice cream melts, a sticky, sweet delight,
The world slows down, bathed in golden light.
Soft music plays, a record on repeat,
Thoughts drift and wander, worries become fleet.
A day to breathe, a day to simply be,
Sunday's slowness, a gift for you and me.
