A Battle With a Robot | 5-Minute Freewrite | Prompt: Concert
This is my 5-minute freewrite, prompted by @mariannewest. Here's the post.
Joe plopped down on his green couch. He was watching a concert on his TV that was more propaganda than music. Lots of lights, whatnot. He didn't even really like the band. He just wanted to woosah for a minute.
The camera revolved around one of the flame throwers on the side of the stage. Then suddenly, the TV melted, and Joe saw a man in a robot suit flying outside his apartment, flames in his hands. Joe bent down behind the couch, grabbing some of the neighbors borrowed flamethrowers, and blasted out of the hole in his wall. The enemy swooped to avoid the blast, then fired his own flames into the room. Joe ducked behind the fridge, pants on fire. Putting them out with some ice from the freezer, he jumped out of the side of the building. He landed on the robot man's back, and he saw his mainframe in the back of his neck. Joe reached down and yanked it out, then jumped back into his apartment. The robot body fell onto the sidewalk below.
Joe rearranged the furniture, then sat down to finish the concert with a new TV. Everything was almost normal again.
