Here in Philippines, we do love surprises. We love to be surprised by our loved ones during the special moment of our life. May it be in our birthday or anniversaries. Last November 2020, we transferred from my place in Soong to my husband's place in Dapdap because our own house is still under construction. But both places are just part of Mactan, Cebu, Philippines.

Last week my father-in-law celebrated his birthday. And as I noticed, it feels like an ordinary day only. Because in our place in Soong, we always wanted that the birthday of our parents will be memorable. It is not necessary to celebrate it with lechon on the table, a pansit and bread is just perfect with the whole squad to make it memorable.

Around 11am, I decided to chat my sis-in-law to prepare something for papa... Just a simple surprise celebration will do as long as he will feel something memorable this year on his birthday. I wanted to do this personally because I wanted to give back all the kindness my father-in-law shown to and for taking care of my Yna also when me and my hubby is not around.

So, around 3pm we went to AA BBQ and ordered for our dinner. We just order the food we will eat so that he will not notice our simple surprise.

Around 6pm, the food is now ready on the table. And call our papa with a little drama.

And I can see in papa's face that he is really surprised as well as mama because she also don't have any idea of our plan. And papa is so grateful of the little surprise that we made.

Again steemians, it is not necessary to celebrate your special day with a very yummy dish but as long as you are complete and happy, it is something to thank God for all His kindness.
