Fortunately, some things never change and are the same every year. Or at least almost the same, because when it comes to cherry blossom, maybet the timing might be a little different from year to year. Last season, everything happened far too early and by the beginning of April the spectacle was almost over. This year, at least for me, everything is the same as always, and now in mid-April, Queen Sakura seems to be feeling really at home here in our region and is shining for us from countless cherry trees.

I have visited and admired some of these cherry trees at exactly this time in recent years as well. I'm slowly getting to know where the cherry blossom is at its best and where I am most amazed and excited. And although I always like to explore new territory, I also like to walk along familiar and well-known paths. Especially when I know how great it looks there at this time of year and how easy it is for me to be enchanted.

And that's why I'm back in what is probably the largest park in our city, standing in almost the same place as a year ago.
As I just mentioned, the trees are the same, only the flowers are new and fresh. But they conjure up a very similar spectacle to what we have seen in recent springs. This year the weather has been fantastic as well, and so far not a drop of rain has been able to spoil the magic of the cherry blossom. It is set to continue like this for a while at least, and the temperatures are almost summer-like. Which, of course, is not entirely ideal, as warm weather naturally accelerates the course of nature.

But even though the peak of the cherry blossom season may have passed, the aftermath and the encore are almost as beautiful and are simply part of this magnificent spectacle. And it's not over yet, so there's no reason to be gloomy. On the contrary, the next few days will be truly spectacular again. That's what you can bet on!

Manche Dinge ändern sich zum Glück nie und sind in jedem Jahr gleich. Oder zumindest fast gleich, denn in Sachen Kirschblüte ist zumindest das Timing jedes Jahr ein wenig anders. Im letzten Jahr geschah alles viel zu früh und Anfang April war das große Spektakel fast schon wieder vorbei gewesen. In diesem Jahr ist zumindest für mich alles wie immer, und jetzt Mitte April, scheint sich Königin Sakura bei uns in der Region so richtig wohl zu fühlen und leuchtet für uns von unzähligen Kirschbäumen.

Einige dieser Kirschbäume habe ich in den letzten Jahren zu genau dieser Zeit auch besucht und bewundert. So langsam weiß ich, wo sich die Kirschblüte am besten in Szene zu setzen vermag und wo ich am meisten staune und vor Begeisterung applaudiere. Und obwohl ich doch immer wieder gerne Neuland betrete, wandel ich auch gerne auf vertrauten und mir wohlbekannten Wegen. Insbesondere wenn ich weiß, wie großartig es dort zu dieser Zeit des Jahres aussieht und wie leicht ich dort zu verzücken bin.

Und deshalb bin ich mal wieder im wohl größten Park unserer Stadt und stehe an fast der gleichen Stelle wie vor einem Jahr. Die Bäume sind wie gerade erwähnt die gleichen, nur die Blüten sind ganz neu und frisch. Aber diese zaubern uns ein ganz ähnliches Spektakel wie wir es auch in den letzten Frühlingen gesehen haben. In diesem Jahr kommt auch noch ganz fantastisches Wetter dazu, und bisher hat noch kein Regentropfen den Zauber der Kirschblüte trüben können. Zumindest ein wenig soll es so noch weiter gehen, und die Temperaturen werden fast schon sommerlich warm. Was dann natürlich auch nicht ganz optimal ist, denn warmes Wetter beschleunigt den Lauf der Natur natürlich.

Aber auch wenn der Höhepunkt in Sachen Kirschblüte überschritten sein mag, das Nachspiel und die Zugabe sind fast genau schön und gehören zu diesem großartigen Schauspiel einfach dazu. Und noch ist es ja auch nicht zu Ende, so dass es noch gar keinen Grund gibt, Trübsal zu blasen. Ganz im Gegenteil, die nächsten Tage werden noch einmal so richtig spektakulär. Darauf könnt ihr wetten!
