Hello my dear friends! Global warming significantly shifts the timing of the appearance of chicks and very soon the birds will be hired to prepare their nests for the appearance of offspring. While the chicks are small, we hardly see them. But then the fledgling season begins.

Fledglings are chicks that are already trying to leave the nest but are not yet able to fly. What to do if you see such a chick?

In most cases, the correct answer will be - nothing!
Assess the situation.
Is the chick in danger? (dogs, cats, cars nearby)
Is the chick sick?
Is the chick hurt?
Does the chick look emaciated?

If the answers to these questions are negative, leave the chick alone! Its parents are around somewhere and they will take care of it.

If the chick is in danger, then take care of it.
Remember the first rule: first warm and then feed! If you try to feed a cold chick, it can provoke a collapse of the digestive system.

If possible, take the bird to the veterinarian immediately. If not possible, contact zoo volunteers. In the most extreme case, look on the Internet for information about what kind of bird it is and what it eats.
For a chick of birds of prey, owls, hawks, storks, chicken hearts can become emergency food. Raw! Be sure to remove the fat! No sausage!

As for water, the chicks of carnivorous birds get the liquid from the meat. Chicks of granivorous birds can be given water.

Wishing you a wonderful Friday night
