Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week 3 : Family Oriented

Philippines or as described as "Pearl of the Orient Seas" isn't known just because of beautiful islands it possess but due to Filipino cultures and values that the world have known and shines the most that is different to other country.

One of the best Filipino culture is being a Family Oriented that made us rich and unique. It's the fact that being a family oriented means putting the family first as our top priority list. We tend to focus on the needs of our family rather than our own wants because we Pinoy valued more our family and draw strength from them.

We have this practices of giving respect to elders whether from immediate family to extended and those we also accept as part of family even those that aren't blood related. We call "ate" to our older sister and "kuya" for our older brother as a sign of respect that they are older than us. It's also part of our culture that Grandparents do take care of grandchildren while parents are working or abroad to provide their children's needs while mostly of us move out of our parents when married or others would want to stay to give back the sacrifices, care and love the parents did for a long years.

I chose the picture above and edited to be one as the best picture I can present to you all because of the meaning behind it that eventhough my father died I still have them to rely on. They are my family in my father's side that give me strength, courage and pushes me to have a life. After that picture above which shows our family bonding by having delicious foods in the table was actually the time where I started to join the Steemit community. They didn't abandoned me in times of despair and loneliness but inspires me by their words of wisdom and that they want me to accept, be healed and happy as well. With the help of my grandmother, aunts like @georgie84 and @sweetspicy, uncle @steemitcebu, cousins like ate @jes88 and @jufranketchup and the rest of the family, extended family, friends and fellow steemians that I call family, I thank you all for the life I have now with all your courage, support, care and love. And thats what makes us all Filipino unique by having the culture of being a Family Oriented.
