The Egyptian Prime Minister officially issued a decision to establish the Egyptian Umrah portal, according to what was published by local media, on Monday.
And the Official Gazette published, in its 30 (bis) issue, the decision of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, No. 1782 of 2019, to establish the Egyptian Umrah portal.

The text of its first article states that the Ministry of Tourism shall establish an electronic portal called the "Egyptian Umrah Portal", which will be managed, supervised and controlled by the Ministry, and referred to in this decision as the "Portal".

According to the second article of this decision, the “gateway” aims to implement the state’s strategic plans in the field of tourism, in addition to ensuring that the best services are provided to pilgrims in a manner that ensures respect and protection of their rights and dignity at home and abroad, in addition to providing correct and accurate information to pilgrims, in a way that ensures that they are raised Citizen satisfaction.

The Umrah portal also aims to keep pace with technological and technical development in the mechanization of services provided to citizens as one of the main axes of the 2030 sustainable development strategy.

The third article of the decision, which was published by Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper, stipulated that Umrah trips should be carried out through one of the tourist companies licensed to practice tourism activity, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 38 of 1977 regulating tourism companies and its executive regulations.

The text of the decision clarified that the mechanism of work of the electronic portal for Umrah is carried out through several rules and procedures, including that tourism companies document their contracts with Saudi agents in accordance with the system in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, electronically on the portal, after coordination with the Chamber of Travel and Tourism Companies and Agencies.

The Ministry of Tourism in Egypt gives the tourism companies a user name and a password for the portal, provided that the tourism companies are committed to developing the Umrah programs that they organize, and uploading them to the portal, indicating the names of the Egyptian pilgrims traveling through it and the national number of each of them.
