Achievement 3 Task @anthony002: Content Etiquette

Hello Steemians I am so excited that I am done with my Achievement 1 and 2 tasks, and I am here today to talk about "plagiarism" as part of my Achievement 3 task. Content etiquette is the perfect word to use when discussing plagiarism. It involves rules and regulations that guide an organization or a platform like Steemit.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is a criminal offense that is mostly carried out by content creators and students. The word Plagarism in my won understanding simply mean the act of copying someone post with you citing or giving credit to the person. Instead of giving a reference as to where the write-up is copied from, you will just go ahead and post the person's work, claiming it to be your own, which is not good.

"Plagiarism"can also be defined as the act of presenting a work or an idea of another person without citing the work of the original author who first published the work before you. Plagiarism mostly occurs in media houses, among content writers, students, and lecturers, and even in our various places of work.

This means that, as I am now a Steemian, I should avoid plagiarism by all means. As a Steemian, if my content is gotten from the internet or books or i copy and paste my previous post, it is better that I reference the post by putting the link close to the post. If I don't, it would be referred to as plagiarism.

Plagiarism: presenting others' work without adequate acknowledgement of its source as though it were one’s own. Plagiarism is a form of fraud. We all stand on the shoulders of others, and we must give credit to the creators of the works that we incorporate into products that we call our own.source

Plagiarism includes more than just stealing other people's ideas or words; it also includes using someone else's words or ideas without giving them credit by including a link in your post.

Plagiarism Types

Self-Plagiarism

This sort of plagiarism occurs when a Steemian submits a work—or a part of his work—that they have already submitted in the past without the administrator's permission.

Plagiarism in Mosaics:

This kind of plagiarism occurs on Steemit when a person uses the words or phrases of another user without properly citing them.

Unintentional Plagiarism:

This sort of plagiarism occurs when a user forgets to cite or correctly credit the source of his or her work, misspells the source, or rewrites the source. That modifies the source.

Plagiarism that is explicit:

This sort of plagiarism involves a person duplicating the entire work of another user without even using quote marks. Here, I can quickly identify plagiarism as the act of directly duplicating another user's work from A to Z without making any changes.
