Achievement 2 | my Task is to describing in details security and fundamental theory on Steemit. Explained as i learned. @dutta
Hey there !
After a long back here, meanwhile i learned a few things about steemit still a lot things to know.. Anyway this is my 2nd post in this community about Achievement level 2. Here i will note down about steemit basics and fundamentals
Meanwhile thanks to @steemcurator03 , @tarpan , and @rishabh99946 for the tagging and nominations. Let's start -
part 1 :
After registration in steemit profile with phone number and email id we get 4 passwords / keys for the profile we use. Means we have total 5 key for 1 single profile . Key names are below -
1- Owner key
2 - Posting key
3 - Private active key
4 - Memo key
5 - Trx key
You will receive your keys in a pdf format and you have to save the pdf in multiple places. Because there is no recover option in block chain, once it gone, it gone. So let's talk about the keys now.
1> Owner key
- As name says ! this is the key for authentication of your profile. For any mishapp or problem in wallet or trouble in login option we may need this key for reset or revival of the profile. Save this key very carefully. It's a combination of numeric and alphabet figuers with a tail of 48 charecters.2 > Posting key -
Used for posting, Regular activity like posting in verious community or, upvoting or communing someone, also needed for following or resteeming others, You need this key. This is also a 48 character key and you need it regularly whenever you log in into your steemit profile. Your daily key for steemit.
3 > Private active key -
A key for third party access and transactions, When you give access of your profile to any bot or other third party steemit site for auto comment or auto upvote you have to give permission them with the access of this key. Along with that if you need to go with transactions you need to authenticate with this key also. Some high lavel features like witness, trail or power up/down you always need this key for authenticate with this key.
4 > Memo key -
This is the key for transaction. Same like your atm or bank pin code. After placeing your ammount or transfer in your wallet you need to give this key for authentication. Without this key any kind of transaction isn't possible any more. Always needed for transaction only.
Transfers
- For fund trasnfer , You need to click on transfer next to steem from wallet. Select the name of the user and select the ammount value. click on transfer, put your memo key and vrolla ! you send the value successfully.Power up - power down
After joining in steemit you get a default power of 14 steem, based on your steemit regularity and activeness your steem power goes upwards slowly, The more steem power = the more visibility/popular or heavy weight profile. For getting more steem power you can use your SBD. Convert your sbd to SP is called as Power up and de-convert sp to sbd is power down. there is a matrix in steemit that, how much sp you can get with
certain number's of sbd. follow the guidelines.
master key
name says all ! maskey key is a key which is used for any mishap or reset your profile setings, psswords or anything, if you feel unsafe or face any problem use this key anytime for reset or secure your profile. Always keep a printed copy of this key and save in multiple places as well as digital copy also.
Trx key -
trx is a token like btc or eth . A less value key for now, according to the experts the value of this coin will increase in future. When you make a post and get a few sbd or sp, along with that you also get a few trx coin. Trx mother coin name is tron . Save this trx coins or trade with your exchange any time, you also can convert tron coins into btc or any other coin you wish. but keep in mind values are subject to market and don't have a fixed value rate in given 24 hours.
that's it, noted down whatever i learned so far about steemit. ney morning will note down about achivement 3 part.

section for his questions below.
Question 1 -
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Answer - Yes, i have received all those, i have saved in multiple places also. Here is a screenshot of my pdf. ( a few part of the key's are hidden due to security issues. )

Question 2 -
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Answer - Yes i know the F&R. i already wrote in above all the functions, here i have added a ms - paint made design for better understanding.

Question 3 -
How do you plan to keep your master password?
Answer - i have saved master id ( along with the main pdf ) in my personal cloud and hard drive in multiple places, also i have made a print copy of my of the pdf for better safety and security.
Question 4 -
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Answer - yes i know this, first let me write up here then i will add a few photos below-
a > click on my wallet section
b > then click on drop down menu on steem dollar and select transfer
c > a new window will pop up ( name of the window is Transfer to account )
d > type the profile handle name whom i want to transfer . ie - @sumit71428
e > in amount filed, fill the amount i want to transfer in form of Steem or SBD.
f > copy and pest the memo key i have received in pdf file.
g > click on next
h > i did not send funds to anyone so i can't tell what will be the next page but i guess in next page it will ask for memo note ( same like text message or url link of post like online wallet for receiver ) and then the funds will be sifted automatically, which will be shown in my transaction list.

Question 5 -
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Answer - i know how to power up my account, it's almost same like the fund transfer. here below the screenshot i tried and tested.
a > click on wallet
b > login with your memo key ( if required )
c > click on first drop down menu in STEEM and select POWER UP
d > a page will open (convert to steem power)
e > select the amount you want to convert into steem power from your fixed ammount
f > then click on power power up button.
g > next page i haven't have, because i didn't made any power up till now. but
i guess it will ask for memo or active or owner key for authentication and given
funds will be converted into steem power. that's it .
