I hope you all are well. Yesterday there was a small New Year's celebration in our village. A few young women of the village had organized this year's festival. This year's festival consisted of several dance elements. There was also a musical performance at the end of the event. They had really organized the New Year celebration very well. So everyone in the village was happy yesterday.

In this kind of new year festival, ancient folk games are held in our country, among them kana mutti breaking, pillow wrestling, eyeing the elephant, feeding milk to the blind, tug of war, coconut scraping, weaving coconut branches, selecting the new year prince and princess, and in addition to several modern games are also held.

I could took pictures of some matches from yesterday's folk games. Below are the pictures. A brief description of those matches is also included below.

🔹Coconut scraping

This is a competition for married women and the one who scraps a coconut the fastest wins. In order to win according to the rules of the competition, the coconut should be scrap so that the coconut are no left and should be thin.

🔹Weaving coconut branches.

Also this is a competition for women and any woman can participate in it. In order to win, the coconut branch must be finished quickly. The coconut branch must be woven correctly and neatly.

🔹Pillow wrestling

This is a competition for men and anyone of any age who can play can participate in this. There will be several rounds of matches and the person who fights till the end without falling will win.
