Natural world needs to be protected

in OCD4 years ago

I have been having some busy days in the past week. Today I spent some time with Netflix watching some incredible documentaries on the Natural world. There is this series called Our Planet in Netflix that attracted me so much and I really wanted to spend my day off watching it. I'm a person who is attracted more towards all these natural world documentaries. I have spent lots of time in the past watching similar documentaries. A few years back, I spent lots of time watching the Planet Earth series. After that I watched a few more documentaries narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

Today when I was traveling through the available videos on Netflix, I came across this called Our Planet narrated by David Attenborough. I watched the first episode and really wanted to spend my weekend on this. The natural world always attracts us. The reason is that it showcases the beauty of creation. We will be able to see and understand the enormous power and potential around us in this world that is keeping all the species intact. By watching these videos we will also be able to understand the importance of protecting the natural world around us.

The icebergs are melting

This is one thing that I saw and understood from the documentary. There is a huge change happening around the world. The places that used to be fully covered with Ice are changing now and the places that used to be very hot are gradually finding a change in the temperature. We can even say that Humans are unintentionally and indirectly becoming a reason for this. We all know that our population around the world is drastically increased compared to the past. That can be one of the reasons why the demand is increasing than the supply. This indirectly affects the wildlife and livestock in the oceans.

Antarctica is having a huge drift in temperature where the seasonal changes are earlier than the expected behavior. This is creating a threat to some of the life stock in that area. But, there are also other changes happening where some species of life are growing in numbers. When there is an inconsistent increase in the number of unexpected species, the demand for food also increases as one species is dependent on the other.

Lack of water and food

Because of the temperature drifts, there are some places in the world that get heated up and the lakes dry up. These documentaries show some of those places and how the species on those places starve to death. There are huge migrations happening in multiple places around the world. These migrations happen from season to season in search of food and water. Based on these inconsistencies, the herd of life stock that migrates has also reduced in numbers.

The orcas and whales that feed on sea species for food are not finding it hard to find the food in multiple places. Especially in the Antarctic region many whales and orcas travel over 8000 km in search of food. Today they are finding it okay to find some food. What will happen if after 50 years from now there is scarce for food?

Responsibility of humans

I'm not going to put all the blame on humans. As humans are also part of nature, if there is a plan for this natural drift I guess humans creating a mess should also be part of the plan. So, there is no point in blaming humans for the same. But, we have to make sure that we protect the natural livestock as much as we can. In some of the places, the rules and regulations have imposed a ban on hunting rare species. That should be strictly followed. After a ban on whale hunting, it is said that their numbers have been increasing in the past few years.

Nature can heal by itself is a quote some people would say if we talk about all these things. I completely understand that and I also agree that we cannot protect every natural disaster that happens around the world. But one thing can be taken into consideration, there are some disasters that can be prevented by humans by being a little more responsible in not doing activities that are directly or indirectly affecting the living species on our planet.
