Mubarak Bala is in prison in Nigeria for speaking out against certain religious beliefs. The least we can do is to carry on his legacy during and after his term behind bars.
Some nations hate and kill atheists. In order to set nations free, we can create videos, books, music, and articles against this hatred. May atheists like Mubarak Bala go free, and may their nations allow them to live in harmony with others as they wish. You and I can show solidarity and support for atheists. Some of us live where discrimination against us atheists is discouraged, but many have to exist where people berate, hurt, and even kill nonbelievers.
Most Christians are moral, but Christianity has no monopoly on morals. Decent moral behavior comes before religion, not from it. Most Christianity teaches that Hell is real. According to the Bible, God created hell and evil. This is the god from whom some, though not all, Christians claim to get their morals. Thank goodness my significant other does not, as a Christian, believe that God will send me to hell. I empathize with those who are not so lucky to have someone who does not condemn their disbelief.
Atheists, vote like freedom depends on it, because it does. Communicate with your politicians; tell them to uphold secular values. This is for the good of all, religious and nonreligious alike. Secularism is good for government and for the people, as well as for freedom of religion.
People, please keep in mind that the fact that the Bible has been deified by certain self-appointed representatives of a deity does not make it the ultimate source of morals.
If you do feel that the Bible is a perfect source of morals, please do not discriminate against those of us who feel otherwise.
You can prove that God exists simply by making a thorough examination of the Bible. The Bible has thousands of prophecies that have been fulfilled down to the smallest detail. Such as the city state of Tyre being scraped to a bare rock that fisherman can spread their nets over. That was fulfilled centuries later by Alexander the Great. The Bible prophesied the crucifixion of Christ centuries before crucifixion was developed by the Persians. The sanitary laws that God gave the Israelites show a modern understanding of infectious disease. There's no doubt whatsoever that Jesus lived, performed miracles, died on a cross, and rose from the dead. There must have been thousands of miracles performed by Jesus and the Apostles. That would help explain how there came to be a million Christians in the Roman Empire just 30 years after the death and resurrection of Christ despite horrific persecution. The power of the gospel to transform lives and the promise of eternal life was greater than their potential suffering.
Atheists are fools. There are many reasons they refuse to believe. It often comes down to intellectual arrogance, the refusal to submit themselves to a higher authority, and because they love evil too much to give it up.
The fact that you are so insulting makes other Christians look badly.
I have been insulted by people who claim to be more moral because of their religious beliefs before. This is nothing new. Nonetheless, it still rankles.
(Romans 1:18-20 NIV) The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, {19} since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. {20} For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
You don't prove the Bible by citing the Bible. I suggest reading sources other than the Bible and books based on it.
