Hello everyone hope you'll are doing great? However, welcome back to my blog.

Before writing on Internet and Ethernet there are simple terms to understand the two terminologies, the simple terms are among the types of network the WAN(wide area network) it describes the Internet and LAN(local area network) it describes the Ethernet. I will be writing on it today.

ETHERNET

The Ethernet is best used for a local Area network it's a physical way of connecting various devices(computers, printers etc) and networks. It provides a standard way to connect computer and switches through a physical medium cable to the network, the cable sends data in form of frames. These frames include both the sender and reciever address with error detection mechanism.

Ethernet is a network that allows connection of computers within close proximity such as an office, school etc. This connection allows computers to transmit data between each other through the means of cable, with improvement on technologies in cables the distance span is within 10 kilometers.
The Ethernet cable comes in two forms which are straight through and cross over and example of this are twisted pair, fiber optic and coaxial cable. The straight through cable connects two similar devices like Computer to a computer, router to router while the cross over cable connect two dis-similar devices like Computer to a switch.

INTERNET

Internet best describes WAN network it's a massive global system that connects computer networks all over the world. It provides services like World Wide Web, electronic mailing and file sharing, it also allows sharing of resources by users instantly through the help of desktop computers, routers, switches.

Unlike Ethernet, Internet is a massive global system that connects Computer networks from millions of private, public, academic, government and businesses network world wide to share information. Also, the Internet is a giant web of networks that's made up of connections of small networks, the small networks comes together and form a huge domain of information and data known as World Wide Web. Internet is one if the mist essential and effective method of communication in today's world, it has been helpful in all ramifications of life which includes medicine, media, education (research) and business.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ETHERNET AND INTERNET

ETHERNET	INTERNET
Ethernet is based on local area network (LAN) because it's proximity is within a small range within a building example office	Internet is based on Wide area network (WAN) because it connects computers all over the world.
Ethernet provides more security because outside devices have no access to it	Internet is less secure because it is open to many access.
Ethernet makes use of one communication route at a time	Internet makes use of multiple routes of communication initiating once at the same time.
Ethernet is a medium through which a user is connected in local area network	Internet is a giant of network that connects many local area network which forms a domain data and information called World Wide Web.
Ethernet is many in terms of quantity	There is only one Internet.

CONCLUSION

The Ethernet is best used in describing the local area network, the local area network makes of physical medium cable to transmit data and its more secured because once the connection is made no external devices can come in without the permission of the person that made the connection.

While, on the side of Internet it is used to describe Wide area network that is made up of connections of many local network, in internet connection communication is not monitored and it has been helpful in all ramifications of life both in business, education, government to mention but a few.
