4 ancient cities in Russia in order to get lost in the past

Most likely, you have not even heard of them. But there is a teleport.

In parallel reality. Somewhere there, in these small cities with Old Slavonic names, the real Russia was lost. Without pathos and without embellishment. Where life is simple and unsophisticated - in many ways the same as a couple of centuries ago.

Only often the residents themselves flee from there, but that's another story. Go! It’s better to see everything with your own eyes.

Sudislavl
A large wooden fortress on a hilltop, surrounded by swamps, a shopping area with fairs and many merchant estates. But that was in the past. Now a county town, existing since 1360, even ceased to be a city - Sudislavl is officially considered a village. And from the Kremlin there was only a temple on the cathedral mountain.

But even now, almost the entire historical building has been preserved on the narrow streets. Well, some species remained the same as several centuries ago. Sometimes satellite dishes and clumsy signs on the facades make a difference.

Nerekhta
The ancient city, which scattered rays from the central square. What do you think is in the center? No, not a temple or the Kremlin. Historically, in the center of many cities there was a fire station. Especially so that the time of arrival to different parts of the city is optimal.

Surrounded by swamps and divided by the river into two parts, the city was the center of salt production in the 16th century - the brine flowed straight along the rivers, and it remained just to evaporate it. And salt in those days was very expensive, so the town was famous and prosperous.

But now everything froze. And the population is unbearably declining.

Galich
The northernmost city of the Central Federal District is located on the shores of the purest Galich Lake and has been considered a balneological resort since the mid-19th century. Like many cities

Kostroma province, in the 17th century flourished due to salt production. Well, he was also lucky because he was on a trade route to the seaport in Arkhangelsk.

Already in the 17th century, the city began to be built up with stone houses - a sure sign of wealth and prosperity. But now, in order to get to Galich, you will have to endure a couple of hours of hardship and hardship - the road from Kostroma only has that name. In fact, this place, which is supposed to be transported by car, can hardly be called expensive, despite the status of the federal highway.

Kineshma
At the beginning of the 16th century, Kineshma was a small settlement in which residents fished. But later it became a posad and later a city with a fairly developed industry. It affected the convenient location on the Volga. As early as 1758, the first linen production with 60 machines was opened here. And at the end of the 19th century, there were a little less than 20 factories, moreover, in all the main areas of production - from brewing to steel.

The river port in the city is declared bankrupt and is used mainly only for stops of cruise ships, cruising along the Volga in summer. But the city is still considered the second industry in the Ivanovo region. And in principle, this is good news.

Here's a frozen story that you can plunge into with your head. This is the case when the city itself is a good example and a textbook of history, and he will tell about himself much better than museums and books. You just have to wander along the narrow streets and take a closer look.
