The Diary Game 07/03/24 | Having coffee with friends at Palmenhaus

Vienna is special for everyone with its hundreds of faces. A city of music, created great artists and a fabulous atmosphere. A city on the Danube, of Mozart, a city of baroque and luxury. A city that has preserved the art passing through an endless symphony for centuries.

Originally built in 1901 as a palm garden for Vienna's former Imperial Palace, Palmenhaus is a bright restaurant that now thrives in the historic building. Tropical palms still "inhabit" the greenhouse, and tourists in Vienna come here specifically to try the main drink - espresso with cream - in a brilliantly lit space.

That day I decided to go out and see some old friends and have a coffee in this wonderful place. "See you for coffee?" or "Shall we have a cup of coffee?" these are just some of the suggestions we often receive, and we ourselves make. Coffee, which occupies a special place in our lives, symbolizes a good story and time shared with friends. For some it's a habit, for others it's a ritual, but there's hardly a person who doesn't relate to this bitter drink and doesn't start their day with it. As if the day wouldn't be a day without the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, which we reach for, mentally arranging our tasks for the day.

Over a "cup of coffee" we see the people we respect and value. We exchange information and experience with colleagues with whom we spend a large part of the working day. Over a "cup of coffee" we get those revelations that the person across from us has decided to share, sometimes for advice, sometimes for comfort or simply to show even more that the person opposite is a valuable, close and dear friend.
Other times, again "over a cup of coffee" we bare a part of our soul when something worries us and we find a shoulder to lean on in this difficult moment because the person across from us gives us security and radiates calmness, all things we need at the moment...

Coffee in itself brings a special atmosphere of sharing, of complicity, of empathy - it predisposes us, invites us to revelations and gives us strength, relaxes us and the conversation starts warm and soulful. You're feeling a little...
The time shared over a "cup of coffee" seals at a certain moment our joy and successes that we want to share with the people who are close to us - other times this time is a time of our sadness... but in a feeling of support and understanding... we feel, that coffee brings and unites people.

At every moment in history, coffee and coffee shops have had their place and importance. Cafes used to be the place that today has already been replaced by the social network... but it was precisely in them that politics became clear, it was the place where fashion trends were shown, and conversations were held on various social topics. The small cafes in the narrow streets... to this day, no matter where they are, they carry the same coziness and promise of a pleasant time. Coffee changes destinies - more than once great loves have started from a cup of coffee... more than once at a meeting with friends and a cup of coffee, people discover kindred spirits and thus rediscover themselves in others and others in themselves...

In a word, this bitter drink works wonders :)))
