The Diary Game 28/03/24 | Walking in the city garden
I stopped in front of a bed of tulips, their bright red, yellow and purple petals standing proudly against the sky. Each tulip looked like a small work of art, unique and beautiful in its own way. As I watched and photographed them, I felt a sense of wonder and admiration at the power of nature to create such beauty.
Continuing further into the garden, I came across stylish benches nestled under the branches of the trees. I sat there, feeling the spring breeze and letting the leaves rustle and the birds chirp. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, letting the clean, fresh air fill my lungs and calm my spirit.
When I opened my eyes again, I saw an old man walking down the alley. He wore a worn jacket and hat, and his face was wrinkled with age. Despite his appearance, he exuded warmth and kindness. He gave me a warm smile and asked, "Do you like our garden?"
"Yes," I replied, "it is a wonderful place."
He nodded in agreement and continued, “I've been here almost every day since my wife died. She loved this garden as much as I did. Here we found comfort and happiness during difficult times.”
We exchanged a few more words before going our separate ways. As we parted, he squeezed my hand and said, "Remember to appreciate the little things in life because they often bring the greatest joy."
Those words stayed with me long after I left the City Garden. As I continued to walk around town, I couldn't help but notice the beauty around me - the smiles of strangers, the laughter of children, the warmth of the sun on my skin. And in every moment I felt gratitude for the simple joys that life offered me.
