RE: CROWDFUNDING: Donation for TURKIYE EARTHQUAKE

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year

I am still shocked by the misfortune that has happened to your country due to this natural disaster. I have immediately initiated financial aid for you. Hey, not only for you! Also for the Syrians. What about SYRIA? The people there have been hit just as hard as the Turkish population. But there is a problem: no help is arriving there. People are trying to recover buried people with their bare hands because they are not getting international help. Even the UN has admitted to having "forgotten" Syria. The number of victims of this terrible event must be multiplied. We cannot even imagine it. Please, let's not forget SYRIA and its inhabitants already maltreated by war! People live there who do not deserve to be forgotten! PLEASE, don't forget SYRIA!

Thank you very much for your support, sensitivity, and financial aid. Also, thanks for your valuable comment. It is very meaningful to know that our sorrow is shared during these dark times.

According to AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkiye), the death toll in Turkiye reached 35,418 and the number of injured reached 105,505. Search and rescue continue on the wreckage. The death toll in Syria was reported to be 5,700. These numbers are very very sad and the numbers are expected to increase.

I certainly share the same concerns and sadness for those affected by the earthquake in Syria. Syria is a country where we always extend a hand. More than 3 million Syrians live in Turkiye. In fact, some of those rescued from the rubble in the earthquake area are Syrians. We have been living together for years and continuous aid campaigns for Syria are already available by Turkish Red Crescent and many other associations. As for the earthquake, Turkiye opened the border gates to Syria in order for humanitarian aid to reach them.

The earthquake affected the region where approximately 13.5 million people live in Turkiye, which covers a significant part of the country's population. The fact that it is a large area and has a large population has been challenging for both state aid and search and rescue organizations and NGOs. Due to the extent of the disaster, we focused on reliable NGOs and institutions that we know in our country and where assistance can be reached directly.

I don't know if there are institutions that can directly help for the earthquake due to the complexity of Syria's internal structure. In my little research on this, I couldn't come to a reliable conclusion. If anyone knows the Syrian association or foundation, let me know and I'd be happy to share. I know that organizations such as the United Nations, WHO, UNICEF, Red Cross, The White Helmets, Doctors Without Borders are helping indirectly for Syria. Since it is an emergency, direct support can be more rescuing, but it can also be supported indirectly.

Thanks a lot again for your support, and interest and for opening a road for me to elaborate and express my thoughts.

Thank you for your detailed comment, it is very helpful!
The numbers you mention are also going through our news in Germany.
The main problem in Syria is that the affected area is also involved in the civil war and occupied by rebels. These demand "road toll" from aid transports. If these get through at all (as well as accurate reports and figures on the suffering of the people), because Assad kept the border crossings closed. But that should have been history yesterday.
No, also I know only superordinate relief organizations over which one can donate indirectly for Syria. Let's just pray and hope that some help will reach the people who need it!
Damn, the whole world is going crazy... 😔
