Mi madre nos cuenta que en su juventud, aunque contaba con el apoyo económico de sus abuelos (nuestros bisabuelos), los estudios para ella no eran algo importante, por lo que decidió dejar sus estudios cuando estaba en tercer año, teniendo apenas 15 años.

Años después, no fue si no hasta que nos tuvo a nosotras 2 que le invadieron los pensamientos sobre la importancia de no haber continuado sus estudios (para ese entonces yo estaba en pre escolar, tenia 4 y mi hermana tenia año y medio), ella nos cuenta que cuando en casa nos sentábamos a hacer las tareas , pensaba en el como ella nos exigiría estudiar o que fuéramos disciplinadas con nuestras actividades, si ella no lo había hecho. Ahora que lo pienso, debió haber estado en una posición difícil...

Pero todo cambió cuando un día de la nada le dijo a nuestro papá:

Yo me cuido de las muchachas en el día y tu de ellas en la noche, voy a terminar el bachillerato!

Mi papa pensaba que era juego, y no lo tomó como algo serio, pasaron los dias y en uno de ellos se arreglo y a las 6:00 pm le dijo: ¿me llevas? A lo que mi papá, aun sin tomarlo en serio, le preguntó que a donde?, mami le contestó que al liceo, y que salia a las 9:50 pm, mientras mami estudiaba nosotras ibamos a casa de nuestra abuela paterna, y allí esperabamos hasta que se hacia la hora de recoger a mami.

I take care of the girls during the day and you take care of them at night, I'm going to finish high school!

My dad thought it was a game, and she did not take it seriously, the days went by and in one of them she fixed herself and at 6:00 pm she said: can you take me? To which my father, even without taking it seriously, asked him where? Mommy answered that she went to high school, and that she left at 9:50 pm, while mommy was studying, we went to our paternal grandmother's house, and there we waited until it was time to pick up mommy.

Y asi amigos transcurrieron 3 años de estudio, pues eran los que le faltaban para terminar el bachillerato, y en ese ultimo año hubo 2 graduaciones, la mia por haber culminado mi preescolar y la de ella por terminar su bachillerato! Mi hermana y yo estábamos muy emocionadas, era algo grandioso, y aunque en ese momento no entendíamos mucho de lo que sucedía, no era impedimento para alentar y celebrar a mamá por cada paso que daba, ella es la mejor!

And so friends spent 3 years of study, as they were the ones that were missing to finish high school, and in that last year there were 2 graduations, mine for having finished my preschool and hers for finishing high school! My sister and I were very excited, it was something great, and although at that moment we did not understand much of what was happening, it was not an impediment to encourage and celebrate Mom for every step she took, she is the best!

Poco tiempo después yo entraba a primer grado y mi hermana a primer nivel, y fue entonces cuando nos dijo que habia presentado el examen en la universidad y que habia entrado! ¿Imaginan la emoción? Mami estaba dando pasos enormes, sin frenos, estaba convirtiendose en la mejor versión de ella, por ella y por nosotras... Todas las tardes salíamos a llevar a mi mami a la universidad y cuando tocaba buscarla a las 10:00pm, mi hermana y yo ya estabamos dormidas, por lo que papi nos cargaba una por una desde nuestras camas, hasta el carro (porque no le gustaba dejarnos solas estando tan pequeñas), y saliamos a buscarla!

Y Así fueron transcurriendo esos 5 años de universidad, habian momentos en que mi hermanita siempre le preguntaba a mami: ¿mami cuanto te falta? y ella siempre respondia: Poquito hijitas!

Shortly after I entered first grade and my sister first level, and that's when she told us that she had taken the exam at the university and that she had entered! Can you imagine the excitement? Mommy was taking huge steps, without brakes, she was becoming the best version of herself, for her and for us ... Every afternoon we would go out to take my mom to college and when it was time to look for her at 10:00 pm, my sister and I were already asleep, so daddy would carry us one by one from our beds, to the car (because he didn't like to leave us alone when we were so young), and we went out to look for her!

And that's how those 5 years of university went by, there were times when my little sister always asked Mommy: Mommy, how much do you need? and she always answered: Little daughters!

En muchas ocasiones la acompañabamos a la universidad, de dia o de noche, ya sus compañeros nos conocían y nosotros a ellos, no era una molestia ni nada por el estilo, mi hermana iba con mamá más que yo, una vez, en clases avanzadas de matematicas mi hermana copiaba todo lo que habia en la pizarra en su cuaderno alegando que ella podría resolver todo jajajajaja estaba muy pequeña.

Paso el tiempo, y fue la constancia y dedicación de nuestra mami lo que permitió que lograra graduarse y sentirse feliz consigo misma, ella estaba orgullosa de lo que habia logrado, y nosotras estabamos muy orgullosas de ella, mami es el mejor ejemplo que tenemos, su esfuerzo, el no rendirse, el haberse dado otra oportunidad lo fue todo, ella se merece el cielo, la luna y las estrellas, siempre se lo digo, actualmente es una profesional, tiene un trabajo formal en el que le gusta estar, y tiene dos hijas que estan por ser profesionales...

Time passed, and it was our mom's perseverance and dedication that allowed her to graduate and feel happy with herself, she was proud of what she had achieved, and we were very proud of her, mommy is the best example we have, Her effort, not giving up, having given herself another chance was everything, she deserves the sky, the moon and the stars, I always tell her, currently she is a professional, she has a formal job that she likes to be in, and He has two daughters who are about to become professionals...
