Hello my Steemian Friends..

Today, in my area, we are still in the midst of Eid festivities. We realized our previous plan to travel to Takengon city because the work schedule was still off. Ah, we were all very excited.

My wife and I waited in the morning for my sister-in-law and her husband to arrive and pick us up. They left Bireuen and traveled approximately an hour to the city of Lhokseumawe to pick us up. Of course, we'd already packed before they arrived.

At around 9am we moved from Lhokseumawe city to Takengon city. The four of us stopped first at a retailer to buy some snacks and drinks for the trip. Because we estimated, the time we would spend on the trip might be up to 3 hours.

Entering the Bener Meriah district, we stopped at an area often referred to as Mount Salak. In this area there are several photo spots that are very famous in my city for their beauty. In addition to giving a strong impression of nature, the place we chose to take pictures I think is also aesthetic.

After getting some good shots, we took a short break while enjoying a cold drink. It was shiny day but didn't feel like it was burning the skin. The weather in this area was cool because it had entered a mountainous area with fresh air.

We continued on our way after finishing our drinks and paying for them. It's still halfway through the trip. Maybe in about an hour we would reach Takengon town. So we wasted no more time and continued on our way.

Exactly one hour later we entered the city of Takengon which was our destination. Actually, I have visited this city several times. But Takengon always makes us want to visit again.

Takengon is often referred to as the city above the clouds. The reason is because the city is located at an altitude of 1250 meters above sea level. Then the temperature in the city is relatively cold, even we need a jacket at night to keep our body warm. And this city is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Aceh during the holidays. I am also sure that if we visit Takengon, it will give a beautiful impression.

When we arrived, the mosque was the first place we visited. We had not yet prayed Zuhr. For that reason we immediately stopped and fulfilled our obligations as Muslims.

Next we visited a place called Pantan Terong in the late afternoon. This place is very famous because I think it is the highest place in the city. We can see the whole city of Takengon clearly surrounding the Lut Tawar lake. It's really an amazing view. And I think this is one of the places that is also the reason why Takengon is called the city above the clouds.

It was already starting to get twilight. The color of the sun at the end of the spectrum turned orange. A sign that it will soon be Maghrib. We rushed to the place that became our main destination to Takengon, camping on the edge of Lut Tawar lake.

The trip from Pantan Terong to the campground took longer than usual. This was due to traffic jams on several sections. I thought it was normal considering it was vacation time. It is certain that many people will also visit Takengon.

We arrived at around 8pm. Made some payments and administration to get facilities such as tents, mattresses, firewood, and electricity.

This was my third time visiting this lakeside campground. But it's different with my sister-in-law and wife who have never been here. They were so enthusiastic that I thought it would be a really fun trip.
