Hive is a copy of the Steem chain, made on the 20th March.
Your posts here on Steem are there prior to this date but nothing else will be.
Some people are posting on both chains, at least while they powerdown and take a stance.
I'm biased, but would suggest moving on over :)
Do you have to create a whole new account or continue using same username and passwords as the steem chain?

Same accounts, same passwords. From now on, if you change them on one chain, they wont affect the other.
