Our Homeless Experience part 2, threats against our family.

in #homelessexperience6 years ago (edited)

I had planned a far different subject for the second post of #homelessexperience. But something happened today to impact our lives in such a frightening and upsetting way, the subject has changed.

My family includes myself, my three children and our two dogs, Hiro and Ella. Ella has a litter of puppies, so she is currently in foster care until she weans them. She will then be spayed and returned to us.

Hiro has already been nuetered to assure no accidental litters in the future.

Hiro has been living in our camper, since he is not allowed in the family shelter. While it isn't ideal, I feed him, get him water, walk him and love on him daily and keep a heater going for him so he is not cold.

A couple of weeks ago I spoke with a local rescue about getting Hiro fostered. It must be lonely and boring to be out there. He isn't the easiest dog to find foster for.

Hiro was attacked by another dog when he was young, so he finds certain other male dogs offensive. He is also very protective of childen. If he decides to adopt a child in a foster home as his own, be will protect the kid from their own parents.

So he has special circumatances that have made finding him a foster take a little longer.

Today I recieved a call while I was at work from animal control. They recieve calls about Hiro about once or twice a week, concerned people worrying about a dog in a camper. Animal control tells these people the dog is safe and cared for as I have spoken with them and had them out. They know our situation.

Well, today they got a much different call. The man was angry, cursing at them and yelling.

The man on the other end made a threat to animal control. He told them that the next time he sees the dog, he is going to open the door and take him.

This man threatened to break into my camper, steal and kidnap my dog.

Animal control tried to assure this guy that the dog is safe and warm and that they check in with me often but he cursed some more, repeated the threat and hung up the phone.

I immediately called the shelter and BEGGED them to let Hiro stay inside for a night or two while I figure it out.

They refused. I called the rescue that was already looking for foster and they promised to increase their search, but they need a day or two.

Friends at work started calling around and all I can do is panic and contact everyone I can think of.

I left work early, missing out on wages and took the first bus back so I could sit with Hiro.

This dog is family. He's my baby. And because of our situation, he is under threat.

He is now being boarded by animal control while the local rescue looks for foster.

I'm completely out of sorts and cannot stop shaking. Some people choose to go vigilante and they don't care who they hurt.

What if my boy gets kennel cough or some other sickness?

Hiro is a good boy. He deserves better than this.

Let's start using steem to get you out of this situation. And hopefully out of the town you are in. Maybe blog about what you need to do to get yourself out of there and how people could help you. We dont all know what you need, for ex: I live in Canada so the way things are done here are different, so I dont know how I an help besides sharing your story and giving you encouragement. We want to help, so let us know how we can do that :) Hiro does deserve better but so do you and your family. Your family deserve to have your family companions alongside with you. Let's work on getting there!

Please move your Rv to another location. Problem solved.

OMG :( I'm so sorry.
I hope you can find the best solution for this situation asap. So now you can't get him back or what?

The animal shelter is only keeping him temporarily to protect him from the crazy person threatening to kidnap him.

The rescue will take him from the animal shelter once they have a foster for him. And he will ne returned to us when we have a place.

Why don't you move your RV to another location?

Because I need to be able to give him food and water every day.

Moving to a place close enough to still do that would change nothing.

And, the shelter has a curfew. If we are gone from the shelter for a single night, we lose our place here.

Ok I understand you have to live in the shelter and you have no choice you cant move your RV to another location and live there.
You should consider moving to another STATE that will allow you to live with your children in a RV.
You have enough STEEM AND SBD to facilitate that. Do you know how to withdraw and convert it to USD?

Are you under a court order to stay in a homeless shelter?

Are you under a court order to not live in your RV?

Maybe you should find some legal advice for someone in your circumstances and follow that.
Remember the people that work for the CPS in any state are not Police, Judges, and Juries all in one. They are just overpaid SJW that have a job, that should not even exist. Have you talked to a Church?

For crying out loud!! What is peeps problems!! ???!!! Can't people just leave well enough alone?? I wish I were closer! I'd take Hero!

@hickorymack
It is hard when life falls apart, I really hope you can get some peace in your life, this situation sounds horrible! Hiro looks like such a good dog! Best wishes! /Friendly Fenix

Thank you. He is a good boy MOST of the time. Sometimes he's a prat. Lol

Sounds like someone I know, (myself)! lol

People are crazy. That sucks that that's happened to you. Hopefully you can use some of the funds from your posts here to help you raise enough capital to afford the start of an apartment.

I hope so, too. We are going to view another apartment on Saturday. The land lady said she will work with me, but I've heard those words too many times before to get excited or hopeful just yet.

That guy is an ass
