WEEKLY CHICKEN GAZETTE ISSUE 17

There are still a few die hard subscribers that read the Gazette. Sadly readership has dropped off more than I would like to admit.

As the @mother2chicks I get quite a kick out of the gals, but understand others may enjoy a read about other types of critters like pigs or elephants horses cows etc. The girls are self entertaining and rarely get their feelings hurt so they don't even notice how the numbers have dwindled.

It has been a good week for egg laying. The Leghorns took the prize. Consistently laying an egg a day. All in all it was an average of 4 eggs per day . Nothing to write home about! Yet better than previous weeks where some days they would lay only 1 egg a day.

They did ask me if I would get them a pet Rooster. This really shocked me as they have never expressed any interest in motherhood except for the few times Brownie tried to hatch all of the eggs the other girls laid. I actually think she put her sisters up to asking for a Rooster. I let them know right away this topic was closed to further discussion! Some days we go round and round!

Here is Dot being humorous asking me "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

Honestly, they are like children and will try to get away with anything they can. You should hear them bicker at night as they fight to see who will get the best spot to roost on.

Since the weather has been so nice the gals have been free ranging for hours at a time. Now that I know they can become airborne if necessary at quite a clip. They have earned more time in the field.

Blue has fully regained use of her foot again. Back to scratching for bugs in the dirt! They did such a good job cleaning up around a couple of the big trees that I have been able to rake and weed them properly.

This morning we took the fresh eggs stirred them up with a little bit of water. Put butter in the frying pan and had some nice fluffy eggs topped with cheese on a sandwich for breakfast. Guess that recipe is a no brainer! With the exception of adding a tiny bit of mayonnaise spread on the bread. A side of fresh honey bell oranges and we were good to go.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks edition of the Chicken Gazette! Your friend @mother2chicks.

Hi, @mother2chicks PostHuntress from @the-curator, here. Just want to say that we have been a bit busy. But we do love to read your posts. We are thinking to perhaps post a small Thanksgiving issue. And would like to ask you if we may feature you again? If so. Please leave us a reply as soon as you can. And try not t worry. It is a bit slow in general. Perhaps due to the holiday season and traveling. And your posts are wonderful.
Sincerely, PostHuntress, @the-curator.

NO ROOSTER!!! That's like hen pecking them! Lol

They really don't share very well! What can I say? Lol!

Good to hear Blue's leg is so much better! I wasn't expecting to see an increase in eggs, though. Great news!

Mmmmm, egg samiches!!! I skip the cheese, but otherwise, we're on the same wave-length.

She's gotta have it! Egg sandwich that is. Thanks for the comment. Tough to draw a crowd these days. Hope it will pass. Plugging forward to the next edition. 🐓🐓

It's definitely a little quiet throughout the homestead crowd right now, me included. Folks probably prepping for Thanksgiving at this point.

The Gazette is one of my 'must-read' every week! I appreciate every volume. Running a series like this is a challenge and if folks don't think so, I dare them to try it. ;~P

I just loved this, I love animals and small children and stories, have never been here but I will follow now as I truly enjoyed this very much, thank you for telling us about your talking animals.

Thanks for stopping by. Talking to the animals is part of the fun of living with them.

Beep! Beep! This humvee will be patrolling by and assisting new veterans, retirees, and military members here on Steem. @shadow3scalpel will help by upvoting posts from a list of members maintained by @chairborne and responding to any questions replied to this comment.

Many thanks! 🐓🐓

It's so nice to learn about chickens. Not many people give them the time of day when it comes to seeing them as individuals. They each have their own personality. It's making me feel dreadful about eating them. I'm going to cut out beef first, then I'll cut out chicken and then later fish. I don't think I can do it all at once. I love reading about your chickens and getting to know each ones personality. ❤️

You are so tender hearted! These sassy little girls have a lot to say. Ask them anything and they will no doubt offer an opinion. There is not enough meat on their bones to eat. That is the truth. They are strictly bred for egg laying. So glad you enjoy reading about their antics! 🐓🐓

It's been so much fun catching up on the Chicken Gazette! Lots more to read now that I'm back in decent internet land (why does FB work easily, but not Steemit? @scienceguy has the same problem out on Marion Island). Sooooo glad Blue is feeling better. 🤗🤗😘😘
