This is it!! Beginning of a dream part 2
The next step was a good one. We got busy digging holes. We knew it was going to be a big job, but we were ready for it. With an arsenal of hand tools, we started. It took several days, but we managed to dig 9 holes for concrete tubes. These are 12 inch sono tubes filled with concrete. This gave us a great foundation to start building our dream.
After several gruelling days of pouring concrete and squaring up the piers, we were able to start framing. We decided to use heavier lumber with the hope of having more room for insulation. We chose 2x6x12. This gave us deeper walls and were taller for our future loft. We managed to frame one wall at a time and stand them up.
We certainly learned new skills and did things we had never done. As i (chad) learned something new i was able to teach stacie. We really pulled together to get this house done. Actually, we are 3 years in and still finishing it.
Once we finished flooring the loft....we moved in. Well, atleast in out of the weather. It was nice to catch some rest
